I hate the fact that this guy has been able to hide. But at the same time, it's good to see that his brain is turning into mush from being in the same place. I suppose he thinks his rhetoric will help him. Truth is, this fruitcake will might get arrested and face justice, which is what he's trying to hide from and avoid.

JULIAN ASSANGE has spoken about his fears he will be assassinated or even "DRONED" by the American intelligence services if he leaves his hideout within the Ecuadorean embassy.

The controversial Wikileaks founder is so fearful that someone will try to take his life that he no longer uses the property's balcony, despite having had no fresh air or sunlight for THREE YEARS.

The Australian faces extradition to Sweden on sexual assault charges - which he denies - and has been living at the central London diplomatic residence since 2012, at a cost of £12million to UK taxpayers.

The reclusive figure fears he will ultimately be sent to the US where he could face the death penalty.

In an interview with The Times magazine, Mr Assange claimed it had become too dangerous to even poke his head out the embassy's balcony doors.

He said: "There are security issues with being on the balcony.

"There have been bomb threats and assassination threats from various people."

Asked if he thought there was a chance he would be shot, the 44-year-old replied that it was "not likely".

"But I'm a public figure and a very controversial one, including in the United States. As a result, there have been quite a number of threats by unstable people," he said.

However, he does worry that if he is ever free he could be kidnapped or even targeted by a CIA drone.

"I'm a white guy," Mr Assange said. "Unless I convert to Islam it's not that likely that I'll be droned, but we have seen things creeping towards that."

It's not my thread title! Copy my thread title, and then copy it into Google, there's a million hits. I may have copied the title while reading Drudge, or Newsmax, or a UK site (not making that up, remember reading one yesterday). I simply copied the title, the amount they copied from the site, and then the link.

No, I do not. But I DO think it's consistent with the stories headline, which I posted. They used a headline to make it sound as if he feared he would be killed by a drone. Then the quote states it's not likely.

I don't think the CIA and drones are in the picture at all, whether he was Muslim or not. I think it was a bit of sensationalism on his side, as well as the paper in question. Is "express.co.uk" normally a legit site to get news from? I only posted it because I saw it multiple places, so assumed at least the quotes and such from him were real.

Oh, so it's more of what we would call a "tabloid" and not a typical paper? Over here we have like "Star" and "The National Enquirer". They basically are tabloid magazines full of conspiracies and celebrity talk. Some legit is mixed in with weird shit.

At any rate, they shall be off my list going forward, at least as something for "legit" discussion. So now I have to find out what, if anything, Assange did say...

This is a story from Fox, which gets it from The Times, and the AP. It seems like the same story. All that might mean is that it's perhaps a legit story, not that of course Express is, they likely just took it from The Times.
