Fiorina Still May Not Get In

What a shame if she doesn't get into the debate.


CNN’s criteria for its September GOP presidential debate may keep Carly Fiorina off the stage reserved for the top 10 candidates despite her recent surge in the polls.


The CNN debate methodology, released earlier this year, weighs polls from July 16 to Sept. 10.



The use of the earlier surveys will hurt the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, who barely registered in the polls before the Aug. 6 Fox News debate. But since then, she has seen a significant bounce.

So, maybe she will get in. She should. She is polling better than nearly all the men.


CNN has revamped the criteria determining which candidates will get to appear on main stage at the next debate later this month, raising the prospect of the GOP’s only female candidate, Carly Fiorina, making the cut.


CNN held a phone call at 5 p.m. on Tuesday with the GOP presidential campaigns to discuss the changes that were an outgrowth of negotiations between CNN and the Republican National Committee to address concerns raised by Mrs. Fiorina. She said the original criteria wrongly has kept her from the stage even as she is rising in the polls.

First, I think Republicans beating each other up is stupid. Two, I think not allowing certain people in is stupid. Anyone catching the theme here? Carly is twice as smart as most of the guys. They don't want her around because she's smart. I think the only two people that could actually give her a debate are Bush and Carson.
