Mr. Takei has already apologized for the comment he made to a reporter. The apology acknowledges that Thomas used statements in writing his opinion that hit a hot button and he responded in anger. He continues to disagree with Thomas but states he should have taken the advice he has often tendered to others - to keep discourse civil. As far as I am concerned, he is a human being, as flawed as all of us are. His immediate recognition of the wrongness of his comments and his apology for same reflect the honest spirit I have always admired in him.
