We say "yep" here, but I have noticed others saying "yup". Which is it? Do they mean the same thing?

I detest yuppies. And yes, that's why I boycotted Starbucks. Dirty liberal yuppy overpriced bastards. But preppies are ok!

Yeah, but the gals are kinda cute at the college age!! My wife was a yuppie, but a hardcore conservative. She's allowed to be a preppie if she likes but never a yuppy. She likes to get some stupid chai tea latte crap from starbucks, and I always tell her to do it on her own time and her own dime, I can't contribute. Makes me feel like a liberal if I have to go in there. Ok, ok, I admit it, she does have yuppy tendencies! LOL I counter that with the dirtbag tendencies and to be there to remind her at all times of the pitfalls of yuppyism. :)
