The Supreme Court is heading into the final month of its annual term.
In a potentially historic ruling, the court will decide whether same-sex couples have a right to marry nationwide, culminating a two-decade legal and political fight for marriage equality.
Another much-anticipated decision will be whether the Obama administration may continue to subsidize health insurance for low- and middle-income people who buy coverage in the 36 states that failed to establish an official insurance exchange of their own and instead use a federally run version.
I say the homo marriage thing will pass, as clearly the founders meant for homosexuals to have the right to marry.
I lean towards the court ruling against the Obama administration.
Your thoughts on these or any other pending ruling by SCOTUS?

I suppose the founders could have defined marriage in the Constitution if they thought it so important for the Federal government to get into the business of that.
ACA goes down IMO but that brings up a whole host of other problems.

And if they find a right in the Constitution for homosexual marriage then they will have continued on the previous path of finding all sorts of rights that are not there.

Marriage is not a right. Equal protection is the issue.

If same-sex marriage is ruled out, I for one would welcome that. In the UK, it's become an ACCEPTED 'standard'.
I think that this is yet one more example of Obama trying to clone in America what he's seen in my part of the world.
I'm sorry to see FJ's 'I'm sort of sitting on the fence, but not really' reply. Seems to lend itself towards a positioning that your LEFT would struggle to disapprove of ?

If they stand on the equal protection argument, then what about polygamy, incestuous marriage, etc?

obamacare crap is absolutely unconstitutional but they saw fit not to toss it last time. So will it take 66 years or what?
I have news for all you people, if something isn't done we don't have 66 more years, quite likely we don' t even have ten more years until the rubber-band breaks! the bamtraitor has ran up more debt in 6 years than was made since this nation's founding!
Thats money and money is power. Where is all that power going??
He engages in a war on us and we for any real purpose that would matter dont even see it or even care.
Worse than just sad, its tragic! Fact. Tyr

I just might.

Laws are made all the time that don't violate equal protection. Do you see that marriage is not a right now?

I lean towards the court ruling against the Obama administration.
WRONG!!
The Supreme Court upholds Obamacare.
Words have no meaning any longer.

Chief Justice Roberts:
“Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets, not to destroy them,” Roberts wrote in the majority opinion (http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/14pdf/14-114_qol1.pdf). “If at all possible, we must interpret the Act in a way that is consistent with the former, and avoids the latter.”
So now, the court can interpret what laws meant to say, not what they say. We are doomed as a country.

Scalia is the greatest justice ever in the history of the USA.
King v. Burwell was one of the biggest legal challenges to Obamacare since 2012, when the Court upheld Obamacare's individual mandate. In the conclusion of his dissent, Scalia said the Court got it wrong both times—and that it has shown bias toward the Obama administration's policies.
"[T]he cases will publish forever the discouraging truth that the Supreme Court of the United States favors some laws over others, and is prepared to do whatever it takes to uphold and assist its favorites," Scalia wrote. "I dissent."

The shadow government rules.. from afar.... (think globalist, new world order)..
That is exactly what we see with this new dictatorial unconstitutional ruling by SCOTUS.
We now have the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch , both charged with protecting the Constitution and this nation in collusion
to fundamentally change its foundation!
Congress divided works so well for them doesnt it? --Tyr

Roberts did harm to the rule of law and his own legacy, now the better road may be taken, legislative change.
The good thing about court rulings, they can be reversed by later courts.

Perianne. Honestly speaking. There is only One Way, and One Way only that this can be reversed, even by the SCOTUS.
Americans need to finally understand. Until we replace Obama....not with another Liberal like Hillary, but a true conservative who HONESTLY cares for this nation. As I have been saying all along. WE ARE SCREWED. The DOOM comes later when the Government controls everything we do.

Har-de-har! I hope this bill gets passed, but that anal sphincter Obama will veto it.
A House Republican on Thursday proposed forcing the Supreme Court justices and their staff to enroll in ObamaCare.
Rep. Brian Babin (R-Texas) said (https://babin.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=299) that his SCOTUScare Act would make all nine justices and their employees join the national healthcare law’s exchanges.
“As the Supreme Court continues to ignore the letter of the law, it’s important that these six individuals understand the full impact of their decisions on the American people,” he said.
“That’s why I introduced the SCOTUScare Act to require the Supreme Court and all of its employees to sign up for ObamaCare,” Babin said.
Babin’s potential legislation (http://babin.house.gov/uploadedfiles/scotuscare_act_of_2015.pdf) would only let the federal government provide healthcare to the Supreme Court and its staff via ObamaCare exchanges.
“By eliminating their exemption from ObamaCare, they will see firsthand what the American people are forced to live with,” he added.

That wouldn't be too hard nowadays. What, you think Obama will actually fight for something? I'd like to see THAT.

That bill should be amended to cover The Congress and White House as well.
After all, if it was presented to be for all USA Citizens, why should they be exempt unless they
are a disabled Vet?

We sadly lost one of the most astute scholars of our Constitution today with the passing of Scalia. Now we must all come together as AMERICANS who care, and hope Obama the Dictator doesn't get to choose the new PAWN...politically, in the SCOTUS.
If another Liberal/Democrat/Socialist/Progressive becomes the next LIFE LONG judge. AMERICA IS SCREWED.
And that's not a JOKE.
