I work in Long Term Care. We take care of a lot of wounds that won't heal.

These wounds are commonly small when compared to the entirety of the whole body. If not cared for, amputation of the affected limb or even death can result related to sepsis (infection of the blood).
I often think about these wounds (which only affect a small part of the body) having such a drastic impact on the health of the body as a whole.
We are now dealing with a small segment of society that is having a disproportionate impact on the health of America as a whole. How we deal with it may well determine our future.
