Yep, that's what I was saying.... :laugh2:
Someone might find that offensive, but we joke about the other being our favorite toy all the time. So, it doesn't matter if someone gets their nose out of joint about it.
Yeah, that's my lil honey... NT's Girl here on the board.

Heck to be honest I am sure when the Ol lady and her friends are sitting shooting the Sheot I am sure I am called a toy, no harm in basically saying that is mine, heck I consider it being proud of her. And quite honestly she is my favorite toy, we ride the other favorite to our favorite spots to do our favorite activity.

Jeff is trying to help me out and I've been enticing the MRS' in riding out and meeting Jeff and his ole lady but, so far, it hasn't worked. The bad thing is that there are several at church who ride often and one of the wives got hurt and has YET to heal so that is pretty much the deciding factor (so far) in my getting a bike.

Be honest, Gunny....you never liked me and I can't blame you cuz I rarely like anybody back. HA! In fact, my only friends are tough old birds who don't need or want anybody around (just like me). HA!!! I have been getting the "grandpa" itch lately and wouldn't mind having a lil' grandson around to shoot, ride and make bows. My wife says that we need more friends and I spout back: "Friends...DEAD expense and most times ONE-SIDED."
Seriously though, I don't like that AMERICA can't make a better ATV but it still doesn't deviate from the God awful truth that you just about can't beat or beat up a tough ole Honda. I know....

Speaking of .. Key Largo is on at 2 Mountain time. That'd be 4 for you East Coaster rejects. It was filmed in a pool hall bar called the Caribbean Club. Was as biker bar. 120 miles south of Miami.
Me and my GF at the time REALLY liked the pier. :)
And, sure. the most popular toy for men are pistols. But there art very strong restrictions for firing combat ones.
There is a good substitution giving a way out plinking.
I'll try to describe hoe we usually entertain when in country side on weekends.
Take an empty beer or coke can, knight 2 neats - one for a load to anchor it, the other - to pull it back. The length of the first must more than the depth.
Throw the can into river, or lake, the second neat at your hand. The can starts floating like a bobber, and it becomes rather difficult target to shoot at. When the can is hit it partly sinks, the target becomes smaller. That who manages to sink the can down is awarded a glass of vodkaю Than the can is pulled from the water.
For this plinking I use pneumatic all metal "Makarov", 100% analog of combat pistol by weight, seize and sight. It is even assembled and and disassembled as a combat one, thus enabling you to keep the skills.

Yep. People who live in remote AK only run the Honda ATVs for the most part.
But the old Honda machines were absolutely bulletproof. The only weak spot on the old Big Reds was the chain-drive - but this one is the shaft-drive with low range and reverse, so it's solid all the way around.
I was going to take a 4x4 4-wheeler up there to leave at the cabin, but then I came across this one and had to have it. It's 1 year newer than the Big Red we had when I was a kid out in the boonies. Total nostalgia trip for me, and I know what that baby is capable of.
And, yeah, I really wish that there was an American ATV that is as well made and reliable as a Honda. Polaris is getting there now, but have you tried lifting up one of the new ATVs from any manufacturer? You'll break your back trying to get one out of a mudhole. That 3-wheeler weighs about 200 pounds, I'm guessing, so really all you have to do is get off the machine and it'll walk out of just about anything.
And I wouldn't touch an Arctic Cat of any kind with a 10 foot pole. They're garbage.
For me, it's gotta be a Polaris snowmachine and a Honda wheeler.

Great, accurate post. I'm sure Honda would (OR SHOULD) pay good money to you (or JIM) for the advertisement and recommendation. I couldn't agree more with you on all counts. One would think that FORD would have continued making tractors....truly a shame really. All our companies have either been sold to foreign interests or given away by big-eared SOW's like the one we have in OUR White House. Heck, maybe when Alaska's population matches its territory size, someone will open their own lil' shop that will quickly grow to something big like HARLEY. Most folks don't realize how big Alaska is and if only they could engineer peas, tomatoes and other such things to grow "profitably" up there.....
Alaska could easily be one of the LARGEST Republics in the world (totally independent) with all the timber, fish, oil and other such things. All they need is more people (much more), tech businesses, and WARMER weather. HECK, if Gore-bal warming had any truth to it at all, perhaps we will be able to "comfortably" move up there and work at an Alaska ATV manufacturing plant or grow corn, wheat and other stuff. HA!!!

The problem with manufacturing here is that everything has to be shipped. Probably 99.9% of freight bound for AK is consolidated and then loaded in semi trailers in Seattle and then loaded onto container ships, and unloaded in Anchorage.
There's so many middle men involved with freight transport that the cost makes it almost unfeasible to compete with a guy down in Oregon making his version of it. Freight costs are the big reason the cost of living is so high here... on a par with Hawaii, who's in the same boat. (!) A gallon of milk shipped from Washington is a buck cheaper per gallon than local milk because they can get their feed so much cheaper down there. It's kinda crazy.

I'm drooling over the Browning.
It's favorite! I used to have a NATO version: parkarized, ambidextrous safety and rubber grips with a blood groove to prevent slipping. Ex-wife got it. When I turn 60 and start collecting my pension, she's supposed to get a third. I'm curious to see if she calls me on my birthday. If she does, my first question is "Where's my Browning?"
I've done it!!!
Yesterday I rode my 50cc 3,5 hp SYM Simphony 50 SR scooter from Moscow to Lukoyanov (the South of Nizhny Novgorog Region)
Total distance - 526 km.
Departure 3:30 a.m.
Arrival - 4:30 p.m.
The first 300 km were a joy, but then every further dozen of kilometers became more and more difficult.
But the main thing is a RESULT achieved. I am here!!! Not so bag for my 65 y.o.
Thus I confirmed my title "iron ass" in 50 cc scooter classification.
And this is fine! :)

I hope it was better built than the Russian Lada I rode in Cuba. It's doors were loose and sloppy, much of the interior had fallen off and the car shook badly as it went down the road. I also rode in a 1953 Plymouth Savoy with a Soviet Tractor diesel engine and a hand-poured regular glass windshield and a braking system borrowed from a Russian Lada (who needs to stop?, anyway). The Plymouth Savoy seemed much more durable.

Long day and a tough ride regardless of what you were on. What was your average speed? I could do the math for 13 hours and 526KM, but I'm guessing there were several breaks in there plus a meal.

I was at 65 km/h. 3 "smoke brakes" as it is not comfortable to smoke while riding + 3 brakes for gas refilling. No meals, only a breakfast before departure. When arrived got a dinner with a pair cans of beer and went to bed. Woke up at 3 a.m. again fresh and ready for further deeds. http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/smile3.gif
