Balu. That song came from the 50's, and was first sung by TENNESSEE EARNIE FORD. This is the first time I heard the Platters sing that song. Bet you would enjoy a visit to HAVANA, CUBA, where you could catch up with all of the BRAND NEW American Automobiles from the 1950's as well?

You are mistaken. I heard it first in 1962, when my parents bought this very record in a Moscow shop. It may be strange for you but in that very 60-s I saw in a cinema such films as "Some like it hot" and "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/smile3.gif

Don't mind him; he's just a cranky pensioner that does posts between bouts of yelling "get off my lawn" when people walk by his house.

I am a pensioner too. And tomorrow (today if Moscow time) I'll be celebrating my 65-th anniversary. http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/sad.gif

For you and tailfins. Brush up on your reading. I didn't disagree with you. I merely told you I never heard the Platters sing it. I don't care what movies you saw. We're not talking about movies. Just one song called Sixteen Tons.
As for tailfins. BS is his trade.
