Demetrius Blackwell was arrested Saturday night in the shooting of Officer Brian Moore, who remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
Blackwell, 35, was expected to be arraigned Sunday afternoon, the Queens district attorney's office said. It was not clear if he had a lawyer.
Moore, 25, was rushed to a hospital in a patrol car after he and his partner pulled up in an unmarked police car to a man who was adjusting his waistband suspiciously, police Commissioner William Bratton said."....More >

The wounded officer, Brian Moore, 25, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in a patrol car and taken into surgery Saturday night. He was recovering from surgery Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred at about 6:15 p.m. when Moore and his partner, Officer Erik Jansen, approached a "person of interest" near the intersection of 212th Street and 104th Road in the Queens Village neighborhood, investigators said.

This guy should of never needed the cuffs, I can honestly say if a thug shoots a cop in my neighborhood and the folks around here help catch him, no cuffs will be needed, more than likley a bag but at the very least a meat wagon would be needed.

Probably because most of us rarely hear about "Non-African-Americans" not attending schools, getting educated, running their neighborhoods as Drug Dealers, or Runaway INJECTION TOOLS for young girls who have babies by the dozen if they can. EDUCATION, and the LACK OF IT, combined with BROKEN FAMILIES where the children rarely know who their daddy's are....is why (in response to your question).

I hope this guy is put on trial as swiftly as possible. I'd say send him to Attica, but he may have an opportunity to talk with someone there. They should send him to Florence or Marion, let him go nuts talking to the walls and his food.
