My 2 new friends

These are my African Dwarf Frogs. It's hard to get pictures as they are always hiding. Cool little buggers.

Cool little guys. I've always liked frogs.

We've still got 2 bearded dragons, both males. They always got along before, but now they're fighting... frantic head-bobbing accompanied with a baleful stare followed by a fierce attack (or what passes for that when you have no teeth). I'm afraid that one of them might blind the other with a claw to the eye, which is about the only way they can hurt each other.

I guess since there's no female around, they have nothing better to do than fight... so we're giving the bigger one away to a friend.

Possibly the funniest thing I ever saw them do was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on TV. They both were enraptured by that movie and sat there side by side on the living room floor watching it.

The adult male Bearded's do tend to get worse as they age. They're territorial suckers and many will unfortunately fight. I've seen loss of feet, limbs, eyes... And some of them live together perfectly fine. Also, have to be careful even if a foot is just bitten, as they get infected real easy and then a part of the limb might just fall off! Do you they fight a lot, or just now and again? About the only thing you can do is have separate tanks for them. Then you feel guilty for separating them!! But the alternative is a stubby looking lizard! LOL It's always hilarious when they do the bobbing. Mine did that with me sometimes if I just looked at him, and put his neck out too. But he was a wuss.

The bigger one was always picking a fight, although it's impossible to say if the smaller one was pissing him off somehow in their secret Dragon body language communication. I tried to see if there were any communication other than the head bobbing, like maybe a twitch or blinking... never saw anything from the smaller one to instigate the attack. Only the bigger one head-bobbed, stared and then charged in for some reptilian ass kicking.

I think the bigger one was just an unsociable prick! Both very friendly with humans and other animals, though.

So what are you feeding the frogs? Small crickets?

So what are you feeding the frogs? Small crickets?

Those are water frogs. They only come up for air every now and again. They stay under for hours and hours, somehow breathing both ways or whatever, I duuno. :)

But they eat regular fish flakes, algae chips, veggies & even small pellets.

That's no fun. Buy them some tiny water bugs!

Yeah, I know. The best it gets is frozen bloodworms and watching them go to town. I just don't have enough tanks - yet. :)

Or, I can add a couple of African Claw frogs, VERY similar, but they will eat the other frogs and tetras, and live bugs on the surface!
