I love how the gun control lobbyists always argue for gun control like it's never existed before in America, and doesn't exist currently. It's like when they try to bang on about the "gun show loophole", you know, the gun shows that require background checks for purchase, the same checks you would have to make in a store?

There's just this air of idiocy to the affair, like they've just never ever tried to purchase a gun before, anywhere.

The problem is that the people pushing this sound really intelligent, and they a genuinely are intelligent, which is even worse. They know they're talking out of their ass, and they know that at this point, there's no way the measures would even pass. The problem is that people buy into it, and then more intelligent-sounding people parrot the sentiment, and there's this ever-growing run of errant bullshit that just keeps getting added to, making it seem legitimate.
