So they're going to show their butts! Typical democrats, no sense of courtesy, no sense of decency. All Boehner can do is tell Netanyahu it is going to happy so they will not be surprised or shocked.

I'm glad I read the article:

In response to this outrageous act, conservative black ministers are holding a press conference to show their support for the Israeli Prime Minister.Urban Cure (http://www.urbancure.org/mbarticle.asp?id=582&t=Black-Ministers-Welcome-PM-Netanyahu-to-Congress) reported:

Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu will address a joint session of congress on March 3rd, and in a political move, leaders of the Congressional Black Caucus are planning to skip the speech in protest of Speaker John Boehner’s invitation to Netanyahu to do so. While the Congressional Black Caucus claims it has “consistently been the voice for people of color,” it seems this brazenly political move couldn’t be further from the voice of black Christians in America.
The Center for Urban Renewal and Education and leaders of the black Christian community will come together to voice their support for Israel and welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu as he addresses Congress. A press conference will be held at the National Press Club on Thursday, February 26, 2015 to address these concerns.
WHO: Star Parker, Founder of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, Black Ministers from Across the Country
WHAT: Press Conference
WHERE: National Press Club, Zenger Room, 529 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20045
WHEN: Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM ET
“Israel has had to fight for survival in the Middle East every single day since its founding,” said Star Parker, Founder & President of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education. “The same forces that continue to threaten Israel today threaten America and the very Judeo-Christian values which link our nations. These biblical values defined the Civil Rights movement and Dr. King was an outspoken supporter of Israel. Jews were major supporters and partners in the Civil Rights movement since the founding of the NAACP. The Congressional Black Caucus undermines America, Israel, and our common Judeo-Christian heritage by turning their backs on the Israeli Prime Minister in a time of danger. We must hear the Prime Minister and show him black Christians, and all Americans, welcome him.”

They are all working together to prevent the Island nation of GUAM from sliding, or tipping into the Pacific.
If we didn't have the Democrat Illiterate Members of the Black Caucus in Congress. Nobody would know

I love ALL of you guys. This is not a jab at anyone, just spurred a reminder is all. Can we please not use the N word in such a context that it makes us appear as stormfront part 2? I don't censor it, and I think sometimes for the sake of accuracy and discussion, it might be best to write it out in it's entirety. But calling people the name, or using it in that context, is a little different. If at a bar or similar, I don't care what words folks use, I don't get offended easily. Hell, I don't get offended easily here either by what some write. But it's the community I think of when I state this, and DP as a whole. It can and will effect others joining, It can and will push others away that are already here.

I hope no one takes offense at this request. It can still be used if necessary, but I prefer it in the appropriate context for discussion. I'm just trying to keep things from ending up too far down the gutter.

Outside of DP, I agree with you more than you'll ever know. It's sickening that so many in the black community use the word as often as the word "the", and then act like they're insulted when a white person dares use the word. It's like "Hey, what's up man" - but only in FAR too many places the N word replaces "man".

But I would ask the same of all that continue to post here, black, white, asian... I wouldn't allow anyone else to come in here and use the word in a manner that would put the board in a bad light either.

Don't take it personally, this isn't about you directly, cracker! :)

One of my best friends, we worked together at a law firm, he used to call me "wonder bread" because I was so white. He was an awesome guy from San Salvador, which I admittedly know absolutely nothing about. My friend Chuck and I used to call him a dirty old spic because he was much older than us. We got caught once by a superior and they put an end to that. From then forth we called him DOS, which was great in thew computer world, but really stood for dirty old spic. :) And I went to visit him in SC a few years back, after not seeing him for quite a few years. It was an awesome get together at the bar/restaurant he owns. After awhile, and calling him "Oscar" a bunch of times, he finally corrected me and told me his name was "Dos" and "don't forget it" LOL

Read as a guest and decided to reply - since you can't seem to understand the ignore feature. I told you in private even that this was done. Why are you still trying to push my buttons when you were even told I was placing you on ignore - at YOUR request?

And it proves nothing other than I am good at mocking the words of a prominent politician. A shame you are too stupid to understand sarcasm and a run on from a recent thread/debate.

Oh, and I'm not a former politician, nor ever, nor have the ear of millions.... So yes, it matters MUCH more when a racist politician with the ears of millions speaks up. I don't think Reuters and the AP will be picking up my words as they do the racist words and friends of the Pauls.

Now please, you know I have you on ignore. Please don't reply to my posts. YOU asked me to ignore you, and I don't think it's quite fair to be replying to my posts when you know I won't be able to reply to them. Then again, you never were much for an intellectually honest debate/discussion.

AND you were told, at least 2x now, that you HAVE been placed on ignore. We even discussed it publicly as of recently. And here you are replying, to someone who has you on ignore, making sarcastic and snide replies and quoting me - KNOWING that I placed you on ignore.

Look, Rev, I have asked you about how you MIS-quote and mimick things I have said for a few years now. You like to put things in "quotes" that really wasn't said. You like to inject actual quotes into completely different debates, of which the context is different. I asked you to stop. You continued. One thing after another - and you said I should put you on ignore then. I did. And here you are replying to me, sarcastically I might add. Maybe don't suggest/ask/tell people to place you on ignore, and then not return the courtesy?

But whatever, I'm taking the upper road from this point, I shouldn't have even taken the bait. I'll just do my best to try and avoid reading as a guest.

It's intellectually dishonest to debate with someone you know has you on ignore.

And you'll notice my comments asking the word not be used unless necessary for the context? You are busy dragging shit over from other threads that you missed where I asked that this word, for the most part, not be used? And now you imply as if it was I doing so. A world leader visits and addresses the most powerful body of politicians. The entire world is tuning in. It was about nuclear weapons and perhaps safety in an entire region in the Middle East. And what was the supposed most powerful man in the USA planning?

---

Obama to huddle with black caucus amid Netanyahu speech controversy

President Obama will meet Tuesday at the White House with members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), including freshman GOP Rep. Mia Love (Utah).

The meeting comes as top black leaders — including CBC Chairman G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.) and Reps. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) and John Lewis (D-Ga.) — are vowing to skip a March 3 speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to protest an invitation they see as a slight to the president in the midst of high-stakes nuclear talks with Iran.

Love is currently the only Republican member of the CBC. Her office said Monday that she plans to attend Tuesday's White House meeting.

CBC members have been among the most ardent supporters of Obama, the nation's first black president, but there have also been tense periods, when the group felt the White House wasn't fighting hard enough for safety net programs, anti-poverty measures, and other initiatives beneficial to black and other minority communities.

Previewing Tuesday's meeting, Butterfield recently acknowledged that the relationship between Obama and the CBC is "complicated." But he was also quick to note Obama inherited a terrible economy, and he blamed Republicans for playing an obstructionist role, rather than working with the president to promote a recovery.

"There have been isolated disappointments with the White House," Butterfield said last month in an interview with The Hill. "But generally speaking I think — and I think that the vast, the overwhelming, majority of CBC members feel — that this president has been unfairly isolated by the Republicans. And his legacy is going to be a good legacy."

CBC leaders have hailed Obama's recent executive actions on immigration and Cuba, and they're hoping the president continues to act unilaterally on issues like criminal justice reform. The lawmakers have long promoted legislation to overhaul the justice system, but the push grew more pronounced in the wake of several incidents last year, when unarmed black men were killed at the hands of white police officers.

"I encourage him to use more of his executive authority, and I believe he will," Butterfield said.

Jim, that meeting was held in mid-February, I just checked the date.

I can't find anything about Mia Love attending Netanyahu's speech or not. She's not showing up as a 'no show' on any list I can find.

If she did boycott for reasons to do with race, I'd be very disappointed-much like a Ron Paul warning.

I tried to get the thread back on track. I tried to do a search to see how this played out myself. I thought posting the "plans" was the next best thing. For me, not finding something on this administration doesn't mean it didn't happen, at least until I get proof - as they are NOT "the most transparent administration ever"

And I agree about Mia. I love her!! I hope she didn't boycott at all.

I heard this same disagreement earlier today. A couple of 9th graders were bad mouthing each other. I couldn't get them to shut up, either.

That's because teens learn by the example you set for them.

Thanks Jim! I thought I'd seen her, sitting towards the back. That would make sense because she is a new member or could be reluctance on her part.

I have heard some black conservatives have felt they would felt they should join the CBC in order to know what the other members were thinking and also to know better what issues were being discussed. I don't think the argument holds much water, but that is for another discussion.

IMO, it seems like Obama wasn't pleased with Netanyahu speaking while he is trying to negotiate with Iran. Yeah, God forbid the country that stands to lose the most chimes in! So Obama gets angry, and all of his little friends then stand behind him.

Is this about nuclear proliferation, stopping Iran, and helping an ally - or is this about Obama not wanting Bibi to expose the crappy deal he is trying to make?

Good! Hope they do. Netanyahu knows he only wants to speak to Intelligent members of Congress who aren't the instigators of Racism, and Hatred.
What will they do, convince him to get Israel hooked on food stamps and other government assistance?

So some black and some white members didn't go...

how can this be? buh Buh buh buh BLACK PEOPLE!!!!!

the white dems must be part black.

so on the next issues will some of you again draw lines clearly as stupid black "racist" vs white regular folks?
Or will you again all comment on it that way and when you see evidence otherwise you can just dismiss it, and still assume race is the REAL motive of Blacks in general when they don't agree with you. That is, if they agree with Rs THEN they are not racist.

And if something happens where there are MORE whites involved than Blacks, should I assume it's because those whites and event/action is racist?

....or at least "I don't think these are numbers to ignore."?

would the tea party be an example?

49 out of the 99 white senators did not attend. 163 out of the 491 total white members did not attend.

Would that give you reason for pause, Rev? Would you want/expect a plausible explanation?

As for the tea party, can you give me hard numbers of total membership, then how many are black/white?

I'm sick of listening to black MFers who want a handout instead of a job. Get your asses to work. They're so proud of being black, but have nothing to be proud of. How many taxpayer dollars they can rip off? Gee, THERE'S a trade.

And isn't it odd that everyone that phoned in has a "D" after their name. F-wits.

My first concern is the numbers. If for a legit reason, I would like to know what it is. If it were for a legit reason, wouldn't democrats in general be doing the same, and logically speaking, these numbers should reflect as much. Unfortunately, these numbers reflect the BC having a problem in much higher numbers than others. Is it possible that they simply wanted to out of loyalty to the party/president? Absolutely, but the numbers are still odd. And if that is the reason, why are the numbers so high for them, and not as high for the rest of the party? Why would they be more loyal than other members of congress?

Also unfortunate, is that I would bet anyone questioning them will be labeled a racist. And I'm betting some seeing me questioning this and putting numbers out there, will also see me as racist.

I'd look at the % of blacks that voted for Obama both times. I never denied race played a role. Indeed, this whole issue appears to be fraught with discrimination along two lines.

Did you say "logical" and "Democrats" in the same sentence?

How about catering to votes?

Keith Ellison is a Muslim. Are any of the rest of the CbC Muslim? I wonder if their being muslim sympathizers has anything to do with it?

Obama didn't even win in 2008. A NC superdelegate voted against his constituents to give the rock star the edge. Hillary actually won, and how sad is it I would prefer her to that treasonous a-hole in office?

And all the Republicant's who didn't vote because their personal favorite wasn't the candidate are just as guilty.

I'm not going to get involved in replying to folks that are really fighting about other members, rather than the actual topic. The 'gotcha' going on for awhile now is boring me, if no one else.

I think most of the Democrats who opted out did so either for loyalty to Obama/DNC issues and to play to the anti-semetic base, especially the young.

The Black Caucus members fit into the above and also have some that are just knee-jerk racists that see every problem Obama perceives to be based on his being black.

Ok Fine Kath. But the Thread BEGINS by saying the REASON the CNC was doing is because they are Black.

Are there are SOME blacks in the CBC that do paint every issues against Obama as a race issue? sure.
are there some Whites in Republican party seats and among the rank and file that are full on racist? YES.

Should we assume every move of the Rs is based on what THOSE people think about blacks and others.
this is my point. You are correct the CBC are among the most loyal liberals you get. they supported Clinton at every turn.... because he's BLACK?!

You seem to want to dismiss the racist elements of the R's, But want to allow it as base to start a conversation about a political boycott for the Ds.
That's convenient.

but I suspect that if someone started a thread with lines that began with
.......This Republican party is just standing by Bush because he is White. They should just call themselves the racist party...`
that there'd be more than a few people crying foul, and getting personal before they went on to address "the issue". or wave off the racist commentary.

Want to try that one again? Obama is as much white as he is black. Everyone seems to forget that minor detail.

I don't give a damn what color his skin is. He's a US-hater and doesn't need to be President. He'd be a better member of ISIS.

And what does that say? If you hate this country so much, leave. He's done everything to dismantle the last 200 years. And the idiots that voted for him are in collusion.
