I currently have a gig in a large company that I won't disclose for the time being. There must be over 2,000 people on the work site here in Texas and it is 85-90% people from India. The H1B Visa arrangement is something that should anger Americans left and right. It should anger the right because it's IT jobs Americans aren't getting. It should anger the left because the H1B arrangement blocks the visa holder from changing jobs. That means competitive pay rates are not necessary and the punishment for being disobedient means being returned to a third world country. Of course obedient workers are not problem solvers and someone like me gets called in to establish some level of functionality. It's slow going because many involved in the transformation are withholding information about how the systems work.
