I had a Nova back in the day, man a set of air shocks and some wheels made it look fantastic, they where a great looking ride.

Ahh nostalgia! Great muscle car days in the 60's & 70's with cool styles and choices. Nothing like when the manufactures dropped a big motor into their econo-box models with some flarish styling. Good looking & sounding albeit slow by today's standards mostly due to tires & suspension not getting the power to the pavement. Hell those Nova's were 0-60 in ~8 sec, and ET's of 15-16 sec. in the 1/4 mile. A stock 5.0 mustang today is 0-60 in 4.5 sec. and the 1/4 mile in 12 odd sec.

I would do the same as that guy with the Nova and resto-mod it. An old car with modern drive train, disc brakes, and suspension, best of both worlds.

Great memories. My very first PAID-FOR car was a White, 66 Chevy, Impala, Convertible with a little 283 under the hood, red interior, and a Posi-traction rear. The PRICE...brand-new.....are you ready?

Mike's was blue with black stripes. He won about 95% of the street races he competed in. I was in bars chasing da women so I missed the vast majority of his races but always heard about them. Seems he got beat by some badass Roadrunner or GTO but not sure--I wasn't there. I remember his Dad was a top notch mechanic and race-car guy.
His double nickel had the speed and the sharp looks too. -Tyr

That and the Hurst 442. I'm biased cause Linda Vaughn gave me a hug & kiss once.

I watched an interview with 2 Chrysler engineers and they said that they never saw a (factory rated) 425 HP Hemi on a dyno put out less than 500 HP. Of course the manufactures did under rate the HP for insurance savings to customers due to insurance costs on Muscle Cars were based on HP to WT. ratio.

Just give me a 68 Plymouth GTX and I'd be happy!

I drove a couple of Chevelle's, a Lemans, and my 67 Mustang, 390/335HP with headers, Edelbrock Hi Rise and 750 Holley tuned by Ronnie Clark.

I had a chance too to meet Linda Vaughn....when she spent some time in Charlotte NC many years ago....met her at an up-scale Happy hour place near south-Park-Charlotte and ..had a chance to chat (promotion thing
)....it was fun....where ever she went at the time she stirred attention

Chevelle 396 was another feared on the street (if you didn't have one) weekend machine...at one time....Gear-heads ...and many enjoyed showing their machines at the drive thru restaurants ...."park and order" watched the women and the cars...or just drive thru and see who was there.....The 396 had several engine options....325hp...350 hp and 375 hp....cool machine in any year!
