Wildfires ravage Lake Tahoe homes

That's about 45 miles from my house. we have a lot of smoke down here to the point of watering my eyes. If it hit's the Lake Tahoe Basin we are in a lot of trouble, that will go up and spread really rapidly.

Last yr. we had a fire come within four mls of our town..

We were having evacuation meetings every night for about a week, but then we got lucky..

Two years ago we had the Waterfall fire which came 1 block from our house. It wiped out a lot here in Carson. They had crews from all over the country here, you could actually feel the heat from my house. Now that's scary. When I was on the FD I got my ELF but I was mostly on the EMS side. I don't do fires. :laugh2:

Bugger. That's such a lovely area. I know what bushfires/wildfires can be like, I hope they get them under control.

That must be so scary. I hope it doesn't spread any more. I'm glad no one has been hurt, but all those homes, trees and animals being destroyed is so sad. :(
