This is ridiculous. If you have that kind of money, just invest and spend $10 million or less for a cool place in the City. IMO, this is a waste of money, even for Bill Gates or Buffett.
--------
Oh là là. A palatial apartment on the 39th floor of the Pierre Hotel has hit the rental market for a jaw-dropping $500,000 a month.
A renter who nabs it would break the record for the most ever paid for a rental apartment in the city.
The property, which is available for the first time as an extended stay rental, comprises the hotel's presidential suite and several other hotel rooms, all of which can be combined into a massive 4,786-square-foot residence with six bedrooms and six bathrooms.
The price-tag is particularly ambitious, since the next most expensive apartment currently on the market in New York is a $250,000 a month penthouse at the Palace Hotel at 455 Madison Ave.
The Pierre, at 2 E. 61st St., was once owned by Standard Oil tycoon John Paul Getty but has since been sold to Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces of India. It has played host to countless celebrities, including Lady Gaga.
