Archeologists say they have discovered an ancient artifact depicting Jesus that will force historians to “rethink the history of Christian Spain.”

A team of experts found a glass plate depicting one of the first images of Jesus Christ — and he’s clean-shaven, sporting short hair, according to The Guardian.
“We know it dates back to the 4th century, in part because popes in the following centuries ordered all patens to be made out of silver,” Marcelo Castro, head of the Forum MMX excavation project, told The Local.
That illustration is in direct contrast with modern depictions of Jesus, which show him with long hair and a beard.
According to Castro, the discovery will have a significant impact on how experts look at history, mostly because it was long believed Christianity was brought to Spain in the fifth century.
“We were afraid to say what we believed at first, because it forces us to rethink the history of Christian Spain,” Castro told The Guardian.

Most depictions of Jesus are incorrect. Because there are no records of any kind that detail exactly what Jesus looked like. Since Jesus is thought to be born somewhere in the Middle East, obviously He is not anglo. Jesus was most likely Arabic, or perhaps Turkish or Serbian. He could even be black. But He is definitely not the blonde hair blue eye Jesus from Sunday School books.

Why would an old plate make me rethink anything of importance with regard to Christ?

Jesus was born to local Jews of Israel...
lived under the local customs ...
and Mosaic law...
and rabbinic teachings of Israel ...
of the 1st century.

there are no descriptions of his physical appearance but the above would STRONGLY suggest he was olive skinned, brown eyed and medium length hair, and with a bread, as religious Jews were disposed to wear in that day.

the finding of the 4th century image is very cool but not necessarily a reason to believe that's it's more accurate than the general description above.

just sayin'

but when it comes down to it it really doesn't matter that much

Gabby you go to great lengths to leave out the most likely ancestry of Jesus being Hebrew/Semitic. Why are you an anti-semite? ;)

However, I'll give you a point for the capital H in "He".

Jesus looks like Jim Caviezel.
