I think the member interviews are awesome. We get to know more about the people we share our ideas and opinions with. This is a another fun way of getting to know you. It's the YES and NO game.
Yes or No...................Share
1. You can ONLY answer Yes or No!
2. You are NOT ALLOWED to explain ANYTHING unless someone messages or comments you and Asks!
Now, here's what you're supposed to do... And please do not spoil the Fun. Copy and paste this into a post, delete my answers and type in your answers. Then see what happens. Perhaps others will be intrigued about something and ask for more information or it might help to see that we all have common experiences.

I have never been able to sleep like that, I have slept at & but never from the night before, I use to come in at 5 or 6 in the morning and wake up by 10 and feel like I slept the day away. And yes I actually have been arrested after running a red light but no not for running it.

I only had the alligator meat once, we had some friends from Louisiana come visit and they made some gumbo with alligator in it. It was awesome! Wickedly hot, but really very good. I remember I had tears running down my face from the heat and I couldn't stop eating it.

Yeah. Something like that. :)
Only I've borken both my ankles more than twice each. One time I thought I had just sprained it again and kept playing basketball and running on it. About two months later the Corpsman is like so when did you break your ankle again? So I said something brilliant like, oh, so THAT's why that sprain isn't healing.
Even more fun was sparring with another Marine on board the USS Boxer. I blocked an elbow strike with my shin and it split from my knee to my ankle. After the appropriate 3 minutes of whining like a bitch, we went back to sparring.

It seems most if not all the women have been pushed in a pool with their clothes on. No men so far have had that happen.
Going first, it was a guy that tossed me in the pool. I admit to trying to push a guy, but he didn't budge. ;)

OK, so everyone's had some alligator meat. Where in the world would you have alligator meat? I also want to know how have you made it through life without making any of your boyfriends cry?
I lived in Florida for over 20 years. In Crystal River, Fl. a wonderful restaurant served alligator bites, made from tail meat. I did not like it. Once was enough. Too tough for my liking. We had an alligator in our driveway. About 9 feet. Scary! Now in Tennessee we have black bears.
At 21, I married the first and only boy I dated. My parents "chose" my first boyfriend and later spouse, long story. 24 years later "I" chose my second hubby, much better.
I did make my first husband cry though, when he realized how much he had to give me in the divorce. He was the guilty party, in NY that is a requirement, it's not a "no fault state".
I kissed someone I didn't like when my step-daughter married, her mother and I exchanged that "kissless" kiss on the cheek.

Care to share arrest? I understand if you don't.
I've never been arrested. Perhaps you were looking at someone else's list. I almost got arrested by Homeland Security at Los Angeles airport in 2012. Went down for U2 concert with my daughter and granddaughter. The next day we went to Disneyland. I took my taser/stun gun with me to the concert because I knew we had a ways to walk to get back to our car so wanted some protection because we can't get a CCP in my county. Anyway, the next day when we were getting ready to go to Disneyland, I threw the taser in one of my bags. Got back to hotel late, got up really early to make flight and didn't even think about finding the taser and moving to checked baggage.
BIG MISTAKE. Xray guy called over one of the HS guys with badge, they took my bag over to table and asked me step aside and wait. Next thing I knew two LA cops are standing next to me while my bag is being searched. They asked me for ID and the only one I had was my military one (HS had my driver's license). When I handed it to them and they saw it, they started asking about my husband and where he was stationed, etc. Asked me if I had any warrants out on me ... I said no! I've managed to make it past 60 years without being arrested ... they asked if I had any outstanding tickets, etc. No, no, and no!! I told them that everyone of my siblings have a long arrest history and one in prison, but I was squeaky clean.
They ran a background check on me and said ... "you are squeaky clean aren't you?" Then, the HS guy walked over and handed the taser to one of the cops. He started to turn it over to get closer look (it looks like a cell phone). Told him to be careful because it was pretty powerful.
He walked away and gave it a quick buzz (really loud crackling) and came back and showed to his friend .. they had never seen one like it. "Where did you get this?" I said "at the key shop in the mall". He said, "you know they are going to have to keep this". I said, it's OK with me, I can get another one when I get home.
About that time HS walked over and informed me that they were writing me up for having a concealed weapon and I would have to appear in court within 14 days. Anyway, the cops walked me to my gate (really embarrassing) and said they would not have given me the ticket because it was an honest mistake (I think it's because I was married to a CSM).
I called court several times to make sure I was on the list to appear and couldn't get a straight answer. They kept saying I needed to show up and then I would know. I said, I have to take off work and book an airline ticket. They don't care. So, my boss said to call from an office phone. I did ... and finally found someone who said ... "do you work for a law firm? Yes. Are you a lawyer or paralegal. Neither, I'm the accountant. Are you a CPA? (I'm thinking "WTH" ... what do these questions have to do with anything). No, I'm just an accountant ... with no certification." Court "OK, we can dismiss the charges".
WHAT???? Well, it seems that the office phone ID shows up as XZY Law Firm and the questions were because if I were licensed it would have to be reported to the licensing agency.
Anyway, sorry for the length of this ... just wanted to let all of you out there who have been arrested ... Grammy almost got handcuffs put on!!!

I answered NO to the question about shaving my head. However, I seriously considered it when my sister lost all hers because of chemo ... I chickened out because I thought I would have an ugly head .. her's was beautiful and perfectly shaped.
Instead, I wore pink in my hair which I later covered up with purple after she died. Some of you may have seen pictures of it from Facebook.
Oh, and the kissing someone from Facebook ... both my sister and my daughter! Hah!

Been on a hot air balloon ride?

No I missed him. It was 1974 my daughter was 13 weeks old, my policeman hubby had just left for work at midnight. We lived out in the country. At midnight a black man came to my door 'selling encyclopedias". I told him to leave. He tried every door and then kicked in basement window. Two large dogs growling and jumping up at him and my standing 10 feet from him with a .38 pointed right at him. He still kept coming in. I told him I'd shoot and to leave, he kept coming so I pulled the trigger. He fled immediately. No 911 back then. I called police and they got there in about 15 minutes. He was arrested breaking into another house. He was high on crack and had a rap sheet full of crimes including rape. I was told I did the right thing. If I had waited for them to show up he would have gotten in. I had to protect my baby. I was prepared to kill him if necessary. I don't miss my target any more.
Zip line in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. We live in the area. A very strange sensation. I was tense. Next time I'll relax more.

In case you wondered, of course I get the point of the comment. Even despite how you meant it, though, you're not so very far off the mark !!
It's maybe the biggest single difference between our countries - that, over here, political correctness extends to very strict rules about carrying weapons. Just as our authorities are tough on gun ownership, they haven't forgotten about knives, either. Police actually have 'stop and search' powers if they suspect that an individual might be carrying a weapon.
See this ....
http://safe.met.police.uk/knife_crime_and_gun_crime/get_the_facts.html
Carrying a knife or a gun is illegal in the UK and the courts will take firm action if you're found with either in your possession.
The Metropolitan Police Service has set up a dedicated taskforce to combat knife crime under Operation Blunt 2. Since its creation in July 2008, 4,509 people have been arrested, and 963 weapons have been removed from London's streets including 47 guns. The large majority of these weapons were recovered through stop and search.
In 2009, a total of 438 firearms capable of lethal discharge came into the hands of the Metropolitan Police Service from the streets of London. These were found by members of the public, surrendered at police stations or recovered by police operations.
Does anything comparable to this happen in America ?
If not .. well, keep voting Socialists into power, and they'll find ways of introducing something in some way comparable to this. I know you have your Constitution, but trust me, given enough latitude, they WILL find ways and means to circumvent it ...

Red State ... very few people, over here, have ever so much as handled a firearm outside of military service. Most Americans just don't appreciate how much of a rarity they are here. I'd be surprised if more than one in 50,000 have ever done so, at least, legally. For my part, I did 'handle' one .. once .. and that was an ex-WW II soldier's souvenir gun, when I visited a friend's relatives over in Germany.
I see that Noir says he has ... I'm curious about the circumstances. Bear in mind, though, that Northern Ireland has had a more violent past, especially during 'The Troubles' of a handful of decades ago. It stands to reason that guns might be more plentiful out there, than the 'UK mainland'.
Ever lit up a firecracker .. YES.
Ever lit up a joint .. a firm NO. I'm strongly anti-drugs, even the 'soft' variety.
Ever shot a bow .. NO. Not a preferred choice of activity in Trafalgar Square .... and police doing a 'stop and search' could be entertaining ..
Been hunting ... NO. Ditto my Trafalgar Square comment ! Hunting for Leftie scalps in debate -- that's different ....
Set a trap ... NO. Not even against pigeons in Trafalgar Square, even despite the temptation ...
Been shot, stabbed, almost killed .. NO. Unless you count the altercation I once had with a 259 bus in north London, when I was knocked down by one. Broke my left arm in six places, including a crushed elbow. Recovery time from those injuries ... just under a year ...
You know how it is. Some big, red object approaches you, from your extreme left. The natural, instinctive inclination of any Conservative is to flatten it, any way you can.
Pity the bus won ....

Well, I actually asked you about the archery question cuz archery is very popular in Europe. I suppose it is because of the lack of available guns. It is still lawful to carry a knife in most places or take up the hobby of archery. Still, the left would take those as well if it threatened their take-over. Gun control has nothing to do with guns and EVERYTHING to do with CONTROL (total, corrupt control).
Sorry to hear about the bus incident.....WOW! I've flipped three or four times and have totaled two (no THREE) cars but never hit by a bus. HA!!! In fact, I've only broken several ribs, my hand and foot..........probably had a concussion a few times but with me....who'd notice. HA!!!!
Anyway, thanks for the blast from the past.

Archery ... well, it is a sport, but the vast majority of Brits don't indulge. I don't know about the rest of Europe.
Did you see what I posted before about knife-carrying ? It is not lawful, in the UK, to carry one (.. unless, maybe, it'd be reasonable to say you'd just bought a set of them from the local Argos store for the sake of carving up the Sunday roast, or for cutlery). You're fortunate if it's different in the US.
It used to be, until Scotland passed some very strict laws on it. I gather that other parts of the UK followed Scotland's example.
I agree on your 'control' point. My belief is that the Left are determined to make sure their drive to a dependency culture is as total as possible. Being forced to depend on the State for your very safety, is one very basic way of driving home that psychology against people.
On my own bus incident .. I forgot to say that I was knocked unconscious by it .. I must've been extremely lucky not to be run over by other vehicles, as I was lying unconscious in the street for several minutes. Granted it was the portion of the street dedicated to a bus lane, but even so ....
Our buses in London are double-deckers, of course, so they're just a bit more formidable. I was rushing for a train at the time, trying to get to work. To add insult to injury, I was carrying a paperback book of short stories, entitled 'I Hope I Shall Arrive Soon' ...

Does anything comparable to this happen in America ?
If not .. well, keep voting Socialists into power, and they'll find ways of introducing something in some way comparable to this. I know you have your Constitution, but trust me, given enough latitude, they WILL find ways and means to circumvent it ...

I wish I'd read that one. I'm not really surprised, though.
Marks & Spencer is one of our more reputable chains of Department store (from very humble origins, many decades ago ... a single open-air stall in a market in Newcastle, north England, I think ) ... UK based, though these days they also trade in other parts of Europe (I've seen a large store of theirs in Strasbourg ... and a smaller one in Lisbon, Portugal). Probably they've expanded further in recent years.
If M&S can do it, it'll probably catch on elsewhere .. unfortunately ..

Found it. It goes back to 2009 -
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/5914307/Woman-28-told-to-prove-age-to-buy-pizza-cutter.html
A shopper was astonished when staff at Marks and Spencer demanded that she prove her age before she bought a pizza-cutter.
Jenny Palmer, 28, was asked for her ID at the checkout after she went to the retailer's Derby store to buy the £1.50 item.
"I'm only two years off my 30th birthday and hardly look like I'm going to go out and physically harm someone," she said.
"I told the checkout woman I was buying it because I was moving into a new house, but she said her screen was telling her to ask for ID.
I think she could have used some common sense. I can't believe I had to go through all of that just to buy a pizza-cutter, of all things."
M&S insisted its employee was right to demand proof of age from Ms Palmer under the 'Challenge 25' policy.
Staff are required to ask for identification from any customer who tries to buy alcohol or a bladed item and appears younger than 25.
A spokesman said: "Our policy is not to sell knives or bladed articles to persons under 18, and a pizza-wheel fits into to that category. We are a responsible retailer, and our customers expect us to be vigilant in providing blades if people appear to be underage."
Last year Tesco told cashiers not to sell alcohol to shoppers of any age if they suspected the drink would be passed on to underage youths.

There's that social "kissless kiss" on the cheek. The kiss you give your in-laws! Ugh!

There are two things hubby wanted me to do but neither really appealed to me:
1. Hike Half Dome - he did this twice while we were married and then about two months after we separated (that was because his son wanted to propose to his girlfriend at the top).
2. Hike to bottom of Grand Canyon and back up in one day (he did it with his uncle and son and it about killed all three of them). I told him I would ride down, spend the night and ride back up. He thought it was easier to go down and back in one day. Boy, was he surprised ... but he did it!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

My ex was a major dick. He was an adrenalin junkie too. We would go skiing in the winter to a great resort in upstate NY. About 10 years into our 21 year marriage we're in the resort and people keep staring at me, like I had two heads. Really bothered me. Hubby kept disappearing for an hour or so a few times a day. Got to be very annoying and embarrassing. When I asked him what he was doing he kept making weird excuses. One strange thing, this tall redhead was often in our hallway, in the lobby, in the ski shop, alone, no partner, then hubby would disappear. Years later I learned she was his mistress for the entire length of our marriage and they had a child together. What a kick in the teeth. I got an annullment.

Hey Rose, looks like we have a type that we are attracted to! Risk takers!
Yep, first hubby did same thing, only with his secretary. It's part of the adrenaline junkie thing ... it is exciting to them to think they might get caught any minute.
I found out about the affair on a Monday, moved out on Wednesday and went by the office and asked her to lunch on Friday. Told her I would give her one month to be gone or the whole town would know why we were split up (small town and her family and ours were very well known). She was gone within three weeks ... not only did she quit, she and her hubby moved out town.
I can be quite intimidating when I'm pissed ... not the loud, screeching intimidating thing .... the silent ... "give your heart to god, cause your ass is mine" ... kinda thing. I think I learned how to do that being the oldest of seven and having four brothers way bigger than me around. Couldn't do anything physically, but I did have intimidation as a tool.
Just because your husband and mine were dicks, doesn't mean they all are. Second hubby was a good, loyal man who didn't even date anyone until two years after we split up. He was military and I think blowing up things took the place of having a mistress!!!! :grenade:

Just because your husband and mine were dicks, doesn't mean they all are. Second hubby was a good, loyal man who didn't even date anyone until two years after we split up. He was military and I think blowing up things took the place of having a mistress!!!! :grenade:

Hey Rose, looks like we have a type that we are attracted to! Risk takers!
Yep, first hubby did same thing, only with his secretary. It's part of the adrenaline junkie thing ... it is exciting to them to think they might get caught any minute.
I found out about the affair on a Monday, moved out on Wednesday and went by the office and asked her to lunch on Friday. Told her I would give her one month to be gone or the whole town would know why we were split up (small town and her family and ours were very well known). She was gone within three weeks ... not only did she quit, she and her hubby moved out town.

Very true. Both my husbands were policemen. That wasn't planned, just happened. My husband now of 22 years is a wonderful man. I'm very lucky to have found him.
I learned of the mistress at 19 years into my marriage. Hubby was in Denmark with our oldest daughter visiting family. I got a post card addressed to me on the front, but the note said "Dear Carol" I love you, miss you...... My name is not Carol. When he got home all hell broke lose.
I was real close to killing him, but regained my sanity before I ruined my life. Their "love" child is the same age as my oldest daughtet within weeks and was norn in the same hospital. Now I know why the nurses treated me like they did. They must have recognized him.
The whole story is really unbelievable. My annullment lawyer said one of the worst situations he heard in his career.
My father's extended family in NY were in the Mafia. We s ouded them like the plague, But they heard about it and actually suggested visiting him. I said no. I was tempted, lol, but said no. I do things legally. I took him to the cleaners financially. That hurt him more.
here's the kicker, he wins LOTTO several years later and has a lot of money, living a very good life.

I remember when that happened, I could never hurt anyone like that. That's sick.
When I confronted my ex with the post card, he got angry at me and started hitting me. I actually thought he was going to kill me. I thought of grabbing a knife off of the counter, but was too afraid to escalate the situation. He broke my cheekbone. The divorce took over 18 months, because of the criminal charges tied to it.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Sassy. I fully understand how you would never lower yourself to such tactics. But, I also fully understand how someone could be pushed into such actions since NO PERSON, man or woman, has any right to STRIKE, HIT, INJURE, or HURT another person in any relationship.
That kind of abuse, from either side, is sick, and needs to be handled quickly.
Unfortunately. My only sister, and one of my sister's in law both went through terrible marriages where their IDIOT, DRUNKEN husbands terrorized them in many different ways. And, the really sad aspect of both was...How they insisted they STILL LOVED the idiots who hit, and beat them.
Sad that many of those women feel there is NOWHERE else to turn, and that NOBODY will believe them.
Glad you, and Rose have finally found the happiness you both DESERVE.
