I personally think that Putin is behind the Ukrainian unrest to gain more territory for Russia.

Looking at the conflict from outside I can say that this is all Russia doing, they have an expansion policy to restore the former soviet empire. Those Ukrainian separatists are nothing more than special ops Russian soldiers.

Putin only interest is war, specially an already won type of war for his side, or long going war for others.

You didn't answer his question. Crimea was annexed, part of Georgia was annexed. Now putin is eying east Ukraine and will soon turn toward the Baltic's. And it's all to protect those russian speakers. Belarus is nothing more than a russian state.

97% should tell you everything you need to know about how valid that vote was.

The whole thing was set up and executed by Putin to gain Crimea as territory. Georgia was, as well.

If you can't see the pattern, and see that Belarus will likely be next, you have your head in the sand. It starts with protesters, then Russia helpfully sends in troops to save citizens. Then you get a 97% vote to join Russia.

Russia is acting just like the Nazis at this time. And the US administration is acting just like Chamberlain. The Russians didn't defeat fascists. They were part of a large group of allies that did that. They then refused to withdraw from all the countries they over ran. Which is what started the cold war.

Actually I've a Ukrainian friend, her father was an important professor in university, they have no love loss with Russia, detest Putin and all who would move back to communist model.

When I had hope that all would work out well, they were 'no, it will go back for time, how long?' They recognized the power of the party, BEFORE Putin.

The US and EU have both placed real sanctions on russia now. The EU is actually stepping up and doing something. The russians have broken the 1986 treaty banning the building and testing of medium cruise missiles. Russia is moving troops and equipment into Ukraine proper. And here sasha is trying to propagandize for russia. It's so much fun reading these propaganda writers trying to get people to believe what they say.
