This is the latest installment of the liberal fanatics' "Nobody's coming to take away your guns" mantra.

Hundreds of thousands of Connecticut gun owners who have done nothing wrong and haven't lifted a finger, are now facing charges, having been turned into instant criminals by Connecticut legislators.

And it's true, as far as it goes: The govt is NOT coming to get the guns. It is telling the gun owners to turn them in. Or destroy them.

These gun owners have already refused the govt's request to register them. How hard do you think those gun owners are going to try now, to comply with a request to turn them in or destroy them?

And when they refuse this one, then... what will the government do next?

Liberals, are you preparing your NEXT chorus of "Govt isn't coming to take your guns!"?

Better use it fast, while you still can.

Conn. officials tell gun owners to relinquish or destroy banned assault weapons

HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut officials are urging owners of now-illegal assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines to relinquish them to the police or make them permanently inoperable.

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection announced Friday it had sent a letter to owners who had failed to register the items by a Jan. 1 deadline, part of last year's gun control law. Officials offered advice on what to do now with the weapons and magazines.

The letter says gun owners are in compliance with the new state law if their items are no longer in Connecticut or were sold to an authorized gun dealer.

The easiest solution would be to rent a locker at an out of state shooting range until you find a buyer for your Connecticut house and find employment in another state far away.

Or, vote the politicians out who passed or voted for the law, and then ask each new one that runs for election, if he believes the government should have ANY say in whether an ordinary person owns or buys a gun of any type. And vote him in or out accordingly.

And, we should also INSIST. No politician will be permitted to have ARMED protection in CT, or in Washington DC.

If they are so determined to take away weapons. THEY should be the FIRST without them.

Just let them buy what they want without any kind of license or oversight.

You can still own a gun. Why wouldn't you want to register it? That way, if another gun nut swipes your stash, you can get it back.

...because upon "registration" the Govt has a record of who owns what. And the list just sits. And it's harmless. Until the government decides what was legal, is now illegal. That record gets dusted off, opened, and now the fascists know where to go. That's the point. It's not about 'getting your stuff back' - that's what insurance is for. I do not want the government to know the arms maintained by it's citizenry because the government SHOULD be a little scared of the citizens. That's the best way for effective government - a government no larger than absolutely necessary than to provide for the common defense against would-be intruders; to coordinate pot-hole fixing, and to provide bare minimum administrative and legal services.

Ummm...yeah. Isn't that the whole point of the story? The government created a class of criminals OVERNIGHT and is now telling those alleged criminals to destroy or turn in those items. I have no doubt that if that same government had A LIST of owners, they would be raiding those domiciles, confiscating the contraband, and incarcerating the perps. Yes, you can still own a gun until they say you can't!
