View Full Version : High school student suspended for NRA t-shirt
OK no need for me to go on about how silly I think the school acted but I do have to wonder if the kid was wearing a shirt advertizing gay sex I bet nothing would of been said.
But here is the question, what would y'all of done if this was your child, yes I know many will say " I wouldn't of allowed him/her to wear it" well that is fine but we all know kids have away of doing as they please so lets just say your kid got caught wearing the shirt ( a shirt advertising a completely legal company ) what would be your reaction ? Honestly I would of been pissed at the school , when they get the blacks to quit wearing there racial shirts, the girls to quit wearing there Girls are #1 shirts , and so on y'all got the picture than I might teach my kids it is the law and we may not always like the law but we must always live by it, but as long as the laws are only for a certain few I am interested in what others think.
Shane Kinney, 16, refused to turn his NRA shirt inside out when told to do so by teacher.(WGRZ) – The parents of a Grand Island High School sophomore confirm their son was recently made to serve a one day in-school suspension, resulting from his refusal to change clothes after a determination the shirt he was wearing violated the school’s dress code.
Wayne and Kim Kinney describe their son Shane, 16, as an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
Shane, like his parents, is also a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

I'll buy the kid a North American Hunting Club T-shirt.
Lets see what they say about that!

What does the dress code say?
It does't say anything. One has to READ it. That fact may explain a lot.

They say he wore the same shirt previously. Also, that it was specifically the guns that had them upset. I'd be curious myself to see if the code was changed, or if it somehow excludes guns/NRA which in no means is promoting violence, if that is their stance.

Ok, found another article. Apparently he was told about this before but had then covered it with duct tape, but this time he refused. Here is the policy:
Officials at the school cited the dress code which prohibits any clothing that might incite or encourage “violent activities.”
I would LOVE to see them articulate how wearing an NRA shirt and '2nd Amendment shall not be infringed' in ANY way incites or encourages violent activities.

It is common knowledge that the mere presence of a firearm or facsimile thereof, (to include photographs, gestures, drawings or any other suggestion initimating a firearm) drives any liberal within a 10 mile radius to commit violence. It's all in the name of safety and for the children, of course.

First of all, the principle mistake you make here is that you can't spell principal. :p
All schools have the right to regulate what students wear. If the kid had worn a shirt that said "Kill Gun Nuts Now" or "I Love Allah," they would have made him change his shirt as well. But I am guessing that single-minded conservative loonies would not be objecting to that.
The kid was trolling. Perhaps not in the Redneck South, but in most areas of the country. Parents know what the dress code is in their kid's schools. They should not have let the kid out of the house with that shirt on.
In our schools, kids can't wear shirts with ANY printed message not associated with the school. Less trouble that way.

It is well known that when a poster points out a spelling error they are essentially highlighting their own supposed superiority. Even if a better speller what does it prove ? It proves nothing about the opposing points being made. And then an insult about "Redneck South "just highlights more ignorance Gabby. I hope you will research more about the South and if you do you will find that we actually even have education and higher education even here! Granted its only a tad better than elsewhere but it does exist. Here is a shocker, some of us spend our entire lives --"book learning"-. Ceptin' wez callz it readin'..
I was reading at 4 years old and have a 56 year history of non-stop reading. I make it a point to read every week (have a huge library to maintain that exercise) . As much as this nation has been dumbed down in the last 40 years I dare say that you at your younger age haven't had as good an education as those 10/20 years older than you.
Dial it back a bit and perhaps others will see more of your good qualities.. It is a principle I have that leads me to give this friendly suggestion. I hope you'll pardon my "Southern Redneck" philosophy of believing in freedom, justice, our Constitution and yes even giving unsolicited friendly advice..
Have you ever heard the term, "Southern hospitality"?? Well, it came to be because it exists so your condemnation of we poor Southern creatures and our love of guns equating our having a savage and barbaric mentality is in error. No doubt reinforced by the false Hollywood presentation of Southern hillbillies. As if there are not any Northern hillbillies. I could give evidence of such but do not care to defame people that are already handicapped by poverty, lack of education and less opportunities. -Tyr

Yes, they knew the "frog in the pot" wouldn't feel it until it was too late. I started raising hell about this crap 21 years ago when my daughter started her indoctrination program. Quickly saw nothing to be done because majority of others were ever so blind. Only remedy was to spend loads of time re-teaching my daughter. I did a fine job and she turned out just fine IMHO. I wished that more people had seen sooner and stood against it. Same wish now in regards to Obama, his destruction and treason but its a no go. Far too many have graduated from the government indoctrination process and far to many have been bought out by dem/socialist freebies. Currently we are in quicksand right up to our chins!! No way to reverse it unless by way of civil war. Sad to have to say.. And that is because the government has the power to force that being the only path and trust me they will. They will when they are ready. Buying up billions of bullets and shipping stateside to police departments military vehicles looks to be a prep for that sooner rather than later. Thank the messiah and the asses that voted for the traitor not just once but twice! Should (heaven forbid) a civil war calamity come to pass I pray ALL those people get their just rewards .. Kids are not deserving of full unrestricted rights. That's because kids these days stay as kids until late 20's. I was a man by age 17. I was up North living with my older brother finishing school and paying my own way in life. I didn't lay my ass up on mommie and daddie until mid to late 20's all the while demanding to be cared for like a child! In the 70's even schools treated 17 and 18 year olds like young adults. Now we have dems making it so that they can lay up on their asses until early thirties. Passing laws to insure responsibility is delayed another decade to go from childhood to manhood. Doing so because lazy and bought out bastards tend to vote for dems and their damn freebies. Freebies that the working people have to pay for.. -Tyr

Men are Abusers, Women are Victims, Children are OursMost DCF agents actually believe that children should belong to the state, and that parents are evil. Their motto could be:
MEN ARE ABUSERS.
WOMEN ARE VICTIMS.
CHILDREN ARE OURS.
This changes only if the woman will not become a victim for them, or if the man feminizes himself properly. If you play the victim (even a male victim), and you "need" them, they will work with you. If you keep your dignity and independence (even if you are a woman), then you must be crushed. Victims thrive in their perverse world. Independent people who do not need them have their children taken away.

No, they aren't, not even close. Workplaces have a very unique set of laws and guidelines in which they work under, which is FAR from what students must adhere to. An NO ONE said a school couldn't tell kids how to dress, why do you make things up? Is that your only way of making points, by either making shit up or referring to Bush somehow? Pathetic.

What irks me more than anything is the amount of times I have defended her. Even recently there were a minimum of 2 threads, in where she was attacked by the majority and I defended her as a member. I don't let political beliefs change how I feel about someone. I may even like someone more if they are kind, and friendly in PM when I talk to people. Jim, where is your sadistic side? Figure out ways to torture her without banning her. :pee:When dealing with women like Gabby in public, it's important to know the law. For example if you're dealing with a nasty feminist at a gas station that says "I don't need any man to hold a door for me." If you pull out a 20 and say "blow me", that's illegal. If you say "You should go work at a strip club. That's all you're good for." That's not illegal.

Again something to be proud of if true but not something to be used to insult another with. Being proud of our kids and their good qualities/character is to be admired IMHO. Which is why I made no rude comment when you bragged about your daughter impressing quoting verses of the Koran. Common courtesy et all..
I can dare say this truth --most likely my IQ is at least as high are the most intelligent members here but that does nothing to prove either my true worth or true character. Both of which are improving daily as I attempt to be a better man. Intelligence is only one part of our spirit and soul.

For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Criteria set by the dem/libs is those that are abnormal, perverted and/or evil qualify for "special rights" . All others qualify to have even their basic rights taken away. One good look at the legislation and regulations they birth and promote proves this accusation is 100% true.. Such a strategy so relentlessly pursued by them can only reveal that they prefer evil over good and criminal acts over civil obedience while they indulge in patting themselves on their very confused "nappy little heads"..-

I recommend you go do some things that embarrass you with the intent of desensitizing yourself from embarrassment. It gives you an amazing freedom.
