It's called acquired situational narcissism, and is also prevelant in celebrities. It's essentially an over-inflated sense of self-importance. The gist of this article is that if you ever hear the bride say 'my day' (remember, it takes 2 people to get married), then you should, literally or metaphorically, slap her around a few times so she knows she's not the queen of the world. It's never too soon or too late, as some brides are still bitter over not recieving gifts years after the ceremony.

Funny article, especially the part about brides asking people to make PayPal payments for their student loans as their wedding gift. We didn't even have a bridal registry!
