Curacao at night, from our Jan 2012 cruise on the Carnival Valor. I preferred this island to Aruba, which seemed a little too US-influenced. Curacao seemed to have an unpretentious sophistication about it that Aruba was lacking.

Yeah, the guy made the costume for his 22 month old daughter. Freaking brilliant. And that's exactly what it's supposed to be, a stick figure.

Living proof that you can work your way from being born into a low-income welfare family to owning your own multi-million dollar business, just on hard work and determination. The plate says 'JANITOR'. The guy owns a commercial janitorial company that he worked for, then bought some 25 years ago. His main office building is 2 blocks from our shop. My husband went to school with him. He used to hang out with the burn-out crowd but cleaned up his act. He earned this one.
