Results of 9/11 Million Muslim March and 2 Million Biker in Wash DC

Looks like for the "Million Muslim March" scheduled today (the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks), about 25 Mulsims have shown up.

Not 25 million. Not 25 thousand. Just 25 Muslims. Including, of course, activist Cornell West. They have been organizing it for most of a year, publicizing it, and all the rest.

Police have so far counted "only" ONE MILLION BIKERS by noon today in DC. That's after advertising and planning for weeks, not months.

According to the numbers I got from the president of a large club there where 200 Muslims showed up and 859.000 bikers and yes this after one on this board just cracked himself up because only 40,000 had signed up on FB and yet another did the math in a more educated way and said 3000 bikers where predicated to come, if they had received the permit there would of been many more I am sure , as for the Muslims ya had to know they wouldn't show as I said all along if they got there million and only 10,000 bikers showed they where in trouble, this wasn't people on there way to work that the Muslims could sneak up on , it wasn't a lone woman they could scream at like they did in that video from England ( or somewhere over there ) this was bikers that would of fought back :laugh: so ya had to know these cowards where not going to show

In case anyone's at all interested ... annoyingly, there's very little in the British media about any of this.

I've seen absolutely nothing about this on any BBC news broadcast - which is hardly a surprise, since the BBC is ultra 'politically correct'. Very little, too, in our newspapers. In fact, the only mention I'm aware of is from the Daily Mail, and this is ONLY on their Website, shown as being 19 hours old at the time I'm typing this (which meant it missed the printed morning editions, and I know this, because I bought this morning's paper, and it doesn't get a mention there !!).

Bikers opposing a Muslim rally took over Washington DC Wednesday morning.

Thousands of motorcyclists roared into the nation’s capital for the Two Million Bikers rally - as the nation observed moments of silence to honor the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks - intent on drowning out an event originally titled the Million Muslim March.

The Million Muslim March changed its name to the Million American March Against Fear (MAMF), but that did not change the bikers’ minds.

Starting from a Harley Davidson store just outside the city at 11am, groups of 50 motorcycles made their way into the capital, according to the Washington Times.

Denied the necessary permits to have a police escort through traffic and stopping for traffic lights, the massive assembly took just over an hour to move out. Aerial footage showed bikers choking traffic on both highways and local roads.

The bikes rolled through the city for 50 minutes for heading to the Beltway.

Riders told the Washington Times they believed the denial was for political reasons.

‘We’re here for 9-11,’ national ride coordinator Belinda Bee told the paper. ‘We are going to have a peaceful ride... but there are people who are sick and tired of their rights and liberties being taken away.’

Authorities denied the accusations, noting that permits are not needed to rally in the capital.

‘This is a God event,’ a commenter said on the motorcycle rally’s Facebook page.

‘I believe America has been in a 12-year funeral. But I’m a Christian man and not a Muslim. I believe in the resurrection! God bless America!’ The commenter added.

MAMF, the rally opposed by the bikers, began on the National Mall just after 12pm – right as the bikers began to circle the area.

With many streets surrounding the rally closed off to traffic, the bikers were not able to get to the rally of their disdain.

‘A historic event for solidarity of humanity to establish peace, harmony and justice,’ is how MAMF’s Facebook page described their rally, organized by the American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC).

The riders did make their presence felt though, with clusters of motorcycles circling the surrounding blocks like hawks as MAMF’s speakers and organizers tried to rally.

Explaining that American-Muslims ‘stand with America against terrorism,’ speaker Ruby Sous said ‘we want to stand here in solidarity with the American people against hate and violence,’ according to the Times.

Christian protestors who showed up to protest against the Muslim rally – in addition to the motorcycled masses – shouted back ‘you picked the wrong day!’

Throughout all this, motorcycles could be heard circling, coursing and revving their way around the rally.

Another speaker, Princeton University professor Cornel West preached social justice and peace, while condemning violence, said the Times.

Attendees tried to hold a moment of silence, but all they heard were revving motorcycles, MAMF chief organizer Isa Hodge told the Times.

Though not quite as large as the name would suggest, there were several thousand motorcyclists in attendance, stretching at least one-third of a mile long as they rumbled down suburban highways, according to reports.

MAMF also did not exactly live up to its name, with only a few dozen supporters showing up, according to the Times.

Several speakers also railed against conspiracy theories, American soldiers in the Middle East and other ‘fringe topics,’ according to the Times.
They were outnumbered by the throngs of park police and counter-demonstrators on hand, according to reports.

A number of motorcyclists were involved in an accident on the ride into the capital, but no severe injuries were reported.

The bikers’ Facebook page thank everyone for coming, wished everyone a safe ride home and said they’ll see each other next year.

MAMF’s website was down when MailOnline tried to access it, and its Facebook page offered no indication the rally would happen again.

The phone number listed on AMPAC’s website went directly to a Sprint voice mailbox that was full.

... so, I don't know what people here will think of that report. It seems to me to be reasonably balanced - however, I do note the apparent downplaying of the number of bikers they say attended .. 'there were several thousand motorcyclists in attendance' is how MailOnline reports it.

Fact is, though, that comparatively few people on this side of the Pond are going to be aware that anything like this ever happened at all. Anyone relying on BBC broadcasts won't know about it. Anyone relying on printed newspapers, so far as I'm aware, will be ignorant of this.

And I regard that as 'news management' over here .. trying to keep public opinion as docile, and compliant with the official line about Muslims here, as possible. The Mail has a reputation for being particularly outspoken .. yet they had plenty of time to PRINT the story. But, they did not. A very fair point, Tyr. Still - - I'm sorry, but I need to correct you. If by 'leftist rag' you mean the Daily Mail (and I think you must do ?) .. well, The Mail isn't one. It is one of the most RIGHT wing papers we have !!!

I actually think they prove as much by reporting this story AT ALL. To the best of my knowledge, unless a report has got past me (which is possible) there's just been silence on this from other news outlets. Trust me when I say that the vast majority of Brits will be unaware of anything about the march .. that it had ever been planned by Muslims, that there was any counter-demonstration, or anything connected to it. Chances are, Tyr, that I'd have missed it myself if it weren't for this forum keeping me informed !!!

The pressures to conform to 'official thinking' are considerable here. Reports on Muslim terrorists just about always carry the qualifier 'Muslim EXTREMISTS' to make sure that the official line about the vast majority of Muslims being peaceloving is maintained ... and this happens across the board, whether from a Left or a Right news source. The Mail, though it invariably doesn't breach that 'standard', does report stories that most others won't touch. It has that reputation .. and some regard the paper as a 'muckraker' because it often goes out on a limb to keep its readership informed.

Coverage of the 9/11 anniversary has been extensive here. But THIS story hasn't featured in the reporting.

I think you're right ... in the context of a pro-Muslim piece done on it, no doubt. Combined with some sort of 'It can only happen in America' flavour to it, chucked in for good measure.

I think the very concept of a people - in large numbers - ever being motivated enough to counter a Muslim march, is one our authorities don't want people here to have any familiarity with. So, they deny their people exposure to the idea. The BBC would want to be pro-Leftie and politically correct about it all. Al Jazeera would more directly side with Muslims, of course. And, sure enough, at some stage there would've been the playing of the race card too, for good measure.

This is one reason why being on this forum has value for someone such as myself. I get news that would otherwise pass me by. And .. I get perspectives expressed that few over here would get proper exposure to. And besides, being on a forum with like-minded people (more so than is true, for the most part, than between myself and other Brits !!!) is a breath of fresh air to me !
