Out of pocket turned out to be MUCH more than cash price!
Here is one of the excellent comments from a guy named Steve:
I work in hospitals. For the most part our healthcare industry is a corrupt
system who's only goal is to take whatever money people have while they are
dying of a horrible disease. From insurance companies who skim 35% of money that
could be used to provide services to hospitals with $45 per square foot imported
marble flooring as far as the eye can see, much of our money is wasted. The
system is perpetuated by an intrusive power hungry government and a populous too
meek to opt out. One of my clients is a vet clinic that uses human technology to
treat animals. They charge ten to twenty times less for the same treatments that
humans receive. The difference is that the vet's clients pay out of their
pocket. Unless we end the third party payer system in this country the industry
will never provide services we can afford.
