Unfortunately, the article is giving this woman just the attention she craves. It is noteworthy that her children's response to her suggestion is quite normal; her parenting is not. She would do well to learn from her own children.

Didn't you say something about you being an attorney? From a completely sterile perspective, isn't this a liability risk on steroids? When dealing with minors, the consent issue gets awful fuzzy. If I had any influence over these people's liability insurance, I would make it known that it's in the insurance company's best interest to cancel their policy.
