Stewart breaks leg in crash

Tony Stewart breaks his leg in a crash in a sprint car crash, what a shame he had a good shot to be in the chase this year, seems like as a car owner and driver in the Sprint cup series he wouldn't take such chances but Tony is the kind of guy that would like to race 24/7 . I never really liked his nasty arogant attitude but since he has become a owner he has changed a lot and I am sure that has to do with Hendrix , he gets basically his entire car from Hendrix , motor, chassis and so on and I am sure Rick Hendrix told him to lose the attitude if he wishes to be involved in anyway with Hendrix Motor sports .

Stewart-Haas Racing confirmed early Tuesday morning that the three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (http://www.nascar.com/en_us/sprint-cup-series.html) champion broke the tibia and fibula in his right leg in a crash at Southern Iowa Speedway, a half-mile dirt oval in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Stewart was transported to an area hospital after the accident, and immediately underwent surgery.

My first husband and I owned a sprint car and used to race with NARC and Outlaws and I have to tell you that it's quite a thrill to watch. Such raw power and just the illusion of going around in circles when a lot of the time the car is sideways.

Tony likes the rush of both sports but have to say that NASCAR might be faster for longer stretches of the circuit, but far safer than sprint car racing. I was in the stands at race track in Santa Maria when I saw hubby catch another car's wheel and it flipped him up and over the fence and he landed upside down in the parking lot. Was a very stressful few minutes waiting to hear that he was OK.

So sad when people are seriously hurt or even killed but life is a gamble and we all make our choices what we are willing to risk and why.. I bet it was sassy, I watch them a good bit down here at the local track and they are a thrill to watch I could only imagine the thrill it must be to drive, when I was still living up North a buddy of mine had family that lived in NC and at that time he introduced us to the sprint driver champ and he showed us how at night when he had nothing to do he would just drill holes in the chassis of the car to make it lighter ( I know now they must weigh the proper weight) but apparently back then it was just about who went the fastest. Another series that is a lot of fun is the Legends , a guy I worked with had a car running in pro mod class and had a Legends car for his kid, his kid became one of the best in the area at last I had talked to him ( a couple years ago ) he had finished second in Charlotte during the race week up there

Even though we owned the car I never got to drive it. Way too much HP for me. The G-force was heavy, heavy, heavy. I need power steering and it needed muscle power. I got enough thrill just standing by the fence when they went by .... trying to keep the grit from the track from getting in my eyes and teeth!!! :thumb:
