Bin Bayyah is vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, a group founded by Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi -- a Muslim Brotherhood leader who has called for the death of Jews and Americans and himself is banned from visiting the U.S.
Bin Bayyah, for his part, has urged the U.N. to criminalize blasphemy. His group has spoken out in favor of Hamas and in 2009 issued a fatwa barring "all forms of normalization" with Israel.
His history, though, is mixed. Aside from his ties to Qaradawi, IPT also found Bin Bayyah was vice president at the IUMS when they issued a 2004 fatwa saying that resisting U.S. troops in Iraq is a "duty" for Muslims.
Why would the National Security Council need to meet with this ass?

Marcus. WHY? How bout this. Meetings with members of the Enemies of America are part of the process Obama swore he would introduce, long before he took his oath. All of the other stuff taking place is WELCOME to Obama as he silently SELLS AMERICA down the river again.
And people wonder why OBAMA Bows???

The administration official confirmed Bin Bayyah met with Senior Director for Development and Democracy Gayle Smith and other members of the National Security Council staff. But the official said they were there to discuss poverty, global health efforts and Bin Bayyah's own efforts to speak out against Al Qaeda.
In 2010, Bin Bayyah publicly rejected a fatwa that had been used as the justification for Al Qaeda terrorism.
In his criticism of the fatwa, he said: "Anyone who seeks support from this fatwa for killing Muslims or non-Muslims has erred in his interpretation and has misapplied the revealed texts."
Well, there's your answer why. If the US wanted to use education as a powerful weapon against Al Qaeda and the Taliban, he would probably be someone worth speaking to. If something like the system they had set up in Yemen that was 98% successful in de-radicalising young misguided Muslims was put in place instead of bombs and invasions, the world would probably be a much better place.
Radicalism is the result of a lack of education in religion.

YOU support Qaradawi don't you Jafar?
You told me a couple weeks ago that It was Qaradawi that overthrew the Validity of Imam Shaltoot's Fatwah of Tolerence to the Shiite's and other Islamic sects that dont agree with Sunni Doctrine.
He is a man of Hate, intolerance and is working with the Terrorists within Syria to aid in the overthrow of the Secular Hashemite Ruler Bashir al-Assad.
He is a terrorist....
And you quoted him to me as being a Valid source just a couple weeks ago.

I respect him and his decisions which are based on a sound knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence. Anti Islam campaigners have tried to discredit him or paint him as an extremist terrorist by twisting his words, but I find him to be an open, honest and trustworthy person and a Sheikh of high regard.

The fact that you respect a terrorist or anyone who even supports terrorists, is both saddening and frightening. The frightening part is because millions of Muslims think and respond just like you. So long as one agrees with their words, or what they stand up for, then their terror actions/support is A-ok.

A few Facts:
(SNIP)
http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Muslim_Statistics_%28Education_and_Employment%29
the whole Arab world translates about three hundred books annually–one fifth the number that Greece alone translates; investment in research and development is less than one seventh the world average; and Internet connectivity is worse than in sub-Saharan Africa.[3] (http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Muslim_Statistics_%28Education_and_Employment%29#c ite_note-2)
August, 2002
Fifty-seven Muslim majority countries have an average of ten universities each for a total of less than 600 universities for 1.4 billion people; India has 8,407 universities, the U.S. has 5,758.
. . .
Of the 1.4 billion Muslims 800 million are illiterate (6 out of 10 Muslims cannot read). In Christendom, adult literacy rate stands at 78 percent.[4] (http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Muslim_Statistics_%28Education_and_Employment%29#c ite_note-Dr_Farrukh_Saleem-3)
The 57-member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) have around 500 universities compared with more than 5,000 universities in the US and more than 8,000 in India. In 2004, Shanghai Jiao Tong University compiled an "Academic Ranking of World Universities", and none of the universities from Muslim-majority states was included in the top 500.[5] (http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Muslim_Statistics_%28Education_and_Employment%29#c ite_note-Husain_Haqqani-4)
The 2002 United Nations Arab Development Report, compiled by leading Arab scholars and intellectuals, reported that fewer than 350 books were translated into Arabic every year, less than one-fifth the number translated into Greek. The 2003 report added that the 10,000 books translated into Spanish every year exceeded those translated into Arabic— over the entire millennium.[2] (http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Muslim_Statistics_%28Education_and_Employment%29#c ite_note-Carnegie_Reporter-1)
What can we garner from this?
Simply put.... Islam is the Religion of the Illiterate.. It feeds on those that are uneducated and the Leaders of Islam count on the Ignorance of the masses.
2/3 of all Muslims are illiterate...
That speaks volumes about Islam... The Religion of the Uninformed and uneducated.

You do realize that these facts will simply dismissed as from a "hate site"? But this WOULD explain a lot. The leaders probably don't want a strong educational system as then everyone would be smarter, and learn things for themselves, question things, and perhaps change. The internet stats prove this too, which is also why places like NK and Iran, China and other places dictate what can and cannot be seen on the internet, and limit connectivity, so that they can "control" the masses.

With a strong education comes independent thought and self expression. By keeping their populations illiterate they make it easier to control them.
I would love to hear Jafar explain why Muslim countries are like this....
This is why Islam is doomed to fail.... the masses are illiterate... uneducated.... uninformed and unable to adapt to a modern world. Their leaders fill their heads with hatred and religious zealotry and turn them loose to kill Jews, Christians and anyone else that disagrees with them.
Islam truly is the religion of those that cant think for themselves....

Islam truly is the religion of those that cant think for themselves.... Right on the mark. Ignorant masses are so easy to manipulate and control. They tend to blindly do as their religious overlords instruct. Islam thrives on that . In fact, Islam would die out where the masses well educated. Very few intelligent and well educated people would blindly submit to its brutally commanded savagery and total intolerance IMHO.-Tyr

Tyr. Agree totally with what you said above. Oddly enough. The very same could also be said for our nation of under-educated, easily-led Americans who did exactly as you suggested...TWICE, for the same man to be our President.
And, the Democrat party...(overlords of the uneducated by design) are enjoying their power over those masses who have been convinced to follow...those who CLAIM to be more intelligent.
What Irony there is between Islam, and the Democrat Party of America. Many of whom are admitted Socialists, and members of the American Communist Party as well.
But, the easily led who always vote for them...are not smart enough to check, or understand how that works against them.

If the hate site is true, then 2/3 of Muslims are astray. It is our duty to study and seek knowledge especially with regards to religion.
From the Qur'aan
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth (96.:1)
Surely Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He raised from among them a Messenger to recite to them His signs, and to purify them, and to teach them the Book and Wisdom. For before that they were in manifest error. (3:164)
It was not necessary for the believers to go forth all together (to receive religious instruction), but why did not a party of them go forth that they may grow in religious understanding, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may avoid (erroneous attitudes)? (9:122)
My Lord! Increase me in knowledge. (20:114)
From Riyyad as Saliheen
<tbody>
Commentary: This Hadith has already been mentioned. This Hadith has glad tidings for those who learn the knowledge of religion, teach it and impart it to others.
1383. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous decendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."
[Muslim].
Commentary: "His deeds come to an end" means that he does not any longer receive the return and reward on his actions. But there are three categories of actions on which he receives reward even after his death. First, Sadaqah Jariyah such as building a mosque, or a hospital, or digging a well. As long as people will benefit from these, he will receive a reward for them. Second, "knowledge which is beneficial" means to impart knowledge to others or to propagate knowledge by means of one's books. As long as this medium of teaching will continue and his books will be studied and people will benefit from them, he will receive a reward for it. Third, virtuous descendants. Training of children on the right lines is essential so that after a person's death they continue to pray for him. The prayer of children in favour of parents is highly useful.
1384. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The world, with all that it contains, is accursed except for the remembrance of Allah that which pleases Allah; and the religious scholars and seekers of knowledge."
