SCOTUS has ruled unanimously that genes cannot be patented.
I don't know about the rest of you but I was watching this case fairly closely due to it's significance.
Back in 2006, Michael Crichton published his last novel named "Next" that dealt with a nightmare scenario where corporations could patent genetic material. That book was pretty damn scary. How quickly fact caught up to fiction in this case!!
I am relieved with today's ruling.
