Pardon me while I choke. The NY Times actually ran this story
Gabby will be heart broken, and someone at the NY Times is now filing his/her unemployment claim

As unlikely as this may sound, we have lucked out in recent years when it comes to global warming (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/science/topics/globalwarming/index.html?inline=nyt-classifier).
The rise in the surface temperature of earth has been markedly slower over the last 15 years than in the 20 years before that. And that lull in warming has occurred even as greenhouse gases have accumulated in the atmosphere at a record pace.
The slowdown is a bit of a mystery to climate scientists. True, the basic theory that predicts a warming of the planet in response to human emissions does not suggest that warming should be smooth and continuous. To the contrary, in a climate system still dominated by natural variability, there is every reason to think the warming will proceed in fits and starts.
But given how much is riding on the scientific forecast, the practitioners of climate science would like to understand exactly what is going on. They admit that they do not, even though some potential mechanisms of the slowdown have been suggested. The situation highlights important gaps in our knowledge of the climate system, some of which cannot be closed until we get better measurements from high in space and from deep in the ocean.
As you might imagine, those dismissive of climate-change concerns have made much of this warming plateau. They typically argue that “global warming stopped 15 years ago” or some similar statement, and then assert that this disproves the whole notion that greenhouse gases are causing warming.

In an interview with the German news publication Der Spiegel, meteorologist Hans von Storch said that scientists are so puzzled by the 15-year standstill in global warming that if the trend continues their models could be “fundamentally wrong.”
“If things continue as they have been, in five years, at the latest, we will need to acknowledge that something is fundamentally wrong with our climate models,” Storch told Der Spiegel. “A 20-year pause in global warming does not occur in a single modeled scenario. But even today, we are finding it very difficult to reconcile actual temperature trends with our expectations.”
Environmentalists have been increasingly calling on President Obama to address global warming before it becomes irreversible. The World Bank reported that global temperatures could rise by 4 degrees Celsius over the next century if greenhouse gas emissions aren’t brought under control. Many world leaders are committed to limit the increase to 2 degrees Celsius.
“The scientists tell us that if the world warms by two degrees Centigrade (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) — warming which may be reached in 20 to 30 years — that will cause widespread food shortages, unprecedented heat waves, and more intense cyclones,” said World Bank president Jim Yong Kim in a statement.
Yet global warming skeptics have pointed to a halt in global warming about 15 years ago. Climate scientists have recently started lowering their warming forecasts.
“There are two conceivable explanations — and neither is very pleasant for us,” said Storch. “The first possibility is that less global warming is occurring than expected because greenhouse gases, especially CO2, have less of an effect than we have assumed. This wouldn’t mean that there is no man-made greenhouse effect, but simply that our effect on climate events is not as great as we have believed.”
“The other possibility is that, in our simulations, we have underestimated how much the climate fluctuates owing to natural causes,” Storch added.

Since there is no global warming all the global warming models are fundamentally wrong.

Simple answer to any, and all questions, theories, excuses for the popular Global Warming/Cooling crowd is.
For possibly MILLIONS OF YEARS. The Earth has been able to take care of itself...DESPITE what must appear to be Several Billion Human Ant's...to any other mysterious Power...out beyond the realm of our Milky Way.
In other words. WE...the humans. Are not, and Never will be smart enough to find the ultimate answers we all hope to find.
But, we can all be sure. For the Right Amount of Legal Tender....any Human Being can be convinced to believe almost everything.

The NYT wrote about it, but the first thing they said was "we lucked out."
Meaning, the warmer religion is still correct, mankind is still evil and Gaia will one day have her revenge, all that rot but for now we have "lucked out."
But we still better stop being so mean to the planet!

ONCE AGAIN, RSR shows zero understanding of what Global Warming actually is. Instead, he tirelessly scours the internet for stories that parrot his pathetically ignorant point of view.
NASA recently released a photo taken on a rare clear day over the state of Alaska. Compare that to a similar photo taken about 30 years. THEN perhaps you will understand what Global Warming is. Though I suspect that a pack of worms will finish consuming the inside of your cranium first.

Gabby for someone who claims to be smarter then everyone else here, you seldom show off your intelligence by actually having a discussion and at least attempting to backup your beliefs with facts
I did not have to "scour"" the internet very long to find an article by the NY Times admitting the warming of the Earth has ceased
Of course being a liberal the last thing you want to do is to actually have to admit, after the doom and gloom and demands from elected Dems to punish the private sector with higher taxes and more regulation to fight global warming, that global warming is not man made.
Like most libs you consider the debate over global warming to be over, so therefore any new facts showing Al Gore and his followers are full of crap is considered irreverent to you

Gabby is perhaps upset all those carbon credits she purchased from Al Gore Inc has not made a difference when it comes to Mother Earth. But is has made a difference in Al Gore's bank account

Gabby. In your best use of the English language. How bout you telling the rest of us, exactly WHAT Global Warming/Cooling is...per AL GORE and the CARBON FACTORY that fooled ya???

Save your breath. Gabby has ran away from another thread
Gabbby is so much like her Dem counterparts in DC. Take Maxine Waters who represents South Central LA (a real high class place in the state of CA) when talking to Oil company CEO's
Congresswoman Maxine Waters (http://libbyquotes.blogspot.com/2009/01/2008-top-20-liberal-jackass-quotes-of_09.html) on socialism: "Guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal will be about socializing...uh, um...Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies."

Gabby (I know you have become "bored" with this thread and probably left) this is why your side is laughed at and not taken seriously by most people
