Thanks to my country's socialist healthcare system, Medicare I just had my appendix taken out, FREE. I am not paying a cent for it apart from the usual 1.5% Medicare levy I pay that also allows others the luxury of getting urgent, free medical attention when they need it.
Sounds like you guys need the same.

Yes I think it would be great if you paid my medical bills.

'Free'? Free to you maybe, but somebody had to pay for it.

So tell us jafar. If you claim that operation was FREE. Just who...do you think paid for it?
Somebody you don't know? Or, did the government just print more money to take care of YOU?

If you were part of the system, I would gladly do it.

We all pay a 1.5% medicare levy. What goes around, comes around. I'm sure I've paid for someone else along the way too. The main thing is, when I needed it the care was there and I didn't need to open my wallet except to look at my Medicare card and give the number.

Sure it's a big ponzi, but isn't all health insurance the same? It's just good to know that when your time comes to claim, there is not a claims officer sitting there denying everything and making you pay an excess.
I had a good, modern laparoscopic procedure done, was looked after well by the nurses and doctors after, and I will continue to have free checkups while I recover.
The food was pretty bad though ;)

No... that tends to describe government programs that are poorly designed and benefit the early beneficiaries before screwing those at the end. But you guys all have your maps upside down so maybe that's why you tend to think big government programs are the opposite too. :poke:

Um, it isn't free. Your appendectomy was paid for by EVERYONE, including the healthy people. Everyone is paying for everyone's elses medical procedure. It is not, by means of consideration, free.

Fill in this tax calculator: http://www.taxtips.ca/calculators/qctaxcalc.htm
The nearest example to what you speak of is in Canada. If you make about $100K for a family of four in New Hampshire, the total income tax is about $10K. In Canada, it's about $35K. A good family health insurance policy runs about $15K-$18K. Just in income taxes, you come out behind. That doesn't even include $5/gallon gasoline, $6+/gallon for milk and considerably more for any good/service in Canada. Wages in Montreal average a little over HALF of wages in nearby Boston, presumably because of payroll related expenses.

Obamacare will even all that out.

Just pay the fine and only buy a policy when you get sick.

If it goes as planned, you won't be able to buy a policy, health insurance companies will be out of business. At least until the imminent trainwreck when Obamacare hits the wall.

We are off on a tangent: Obamacare brings us a step closer to socialized medicine. Thankfully when it fails it won't be as difficult to undo as fully socialized medicine would be.

It will be 'fully socialized,' there's no way to avoid that.

At least I back up my talk with action. I'd like to see more patriots do the same. You don't have to sit at the sideline and do something just because your fascist government demands it.

Of course not. Though it's not lost on me that said government has the power to put my ass in prison for doing what you advocate. Me? I want to be around for my kids and hopefully grandkids.

I think people will see that it doesn't work. People just won't accept raising taxes to Canadian levels. Obama stepped in it. Now the narrative will be "Obama offered a plan to fix it; look at the failed results." Had Obamacare not come along, the narrative would have been that a private healthcare system was a failure. Oh ye of little faith.

My effective income tax rate is about 10% on a six figure income. The Obamacare penalty isn't scheduled to become obscene. Taxes are manageable if you put on the green eyeshades, plan properly and fill out the right forms.

I'm pretty sure the Founding Fathers never intended for US citizens to be fearful of their government.

Why would you assume such? They certainly were fearful, which is why there are so many safeguards. Federated and separation of powers on each level. Unfortunately those in power have muddied the lines and the electorate hasn't complained so that they can hear.

Precisely why they never intended citizens to fear their government. And of course, they would absolutely encourage an insurgency against it.

1.5% of what?
1.5% of my salary. It's about to have a 0.5% hike in the new financial year as the government has a new idea to pay for the National Disability Insurance Scheme out of the medicare levy. Most Australians are supportive of the idea as it is a kind of charity to help disabled people who already have a hard enough time getting the care they need.
Um, it isn't free. Your appendectomy was paid for by EVERYONE, including the healthy people. Everyone is paying for everyone's elses medical procedure. It is not, by means of consideration, free.
True, but the lack of debits from my bank account mean that it is effectively free. If I went in for something more serious like a heart bypass, I would get even more value out of Medicare ;)

I think Obama should take note of how Australia and even the UK does it (10% national insurance ouch!). Socialised healthcare can work to the benefit of everyone if it is implemented correctly.
I think aerobic work out is best way to get great results in natural way and be fit, i also doing aerobic work out in morning, improved it represents the various changes in the diagnostics....
