Rush's brilliant morning update
On March 22, 2012, IRS Commissioner Douglas Schulman testified before a congressional committee. Responding to complaints that Tea Party groups were being targeted for harassment, he declared: “There’s absolutely no targeting.”
Last week, the IRS apologized for targeting Tea Party and conservative groups in 2012. They blamed it on low-level staffers in Ohio. But, in a random act of investigative journalism, AP dug out a draft of the inspector general’s report. It reveals that senior IRS officials knew much earlier that Tea Party groups were being harassed.
At a June 29, 2011 meeting, Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS division overseeing tax-exempt organizations, was told “Tea Party” and “Patriot” groups were being flagged for burdensome scrutiny. There are now reports that conservative Jewish groups were also targeted. Some were asked about their religious views toward Israel.

In the past weeks, we’ve learned: secret recordings were made at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign office. One person involved attended a White House meeting days earlier. We’ve also learned America was lied to about Benghazi: Obama stood down while our Ambassador and three others were being tortured and murdered. We now learn that conservative political groups, and religious groups, were targeted by Obama’s IRS, that senior officials knew, and apparently misled Congress about what they knew, and when.
It may be time to start addressing our President as “Barack Milhous Obama.” What did he know, and when did he know it?
