Funny Indian vs. Musharraf Video

I've always been a great admirer of General Musharraf.

This video from an Indian news program is priceless. Compare what Musharraf says vs. how the program portrays what he has just said in the red captions above his picture.

It's really kind of funny. Musharraf is speaking quite sensibly, and the captions make him out to be a raving lunatic. :laugh:

By comparison, our news media is absolutely fair and balanced. Even if you're not interested in the subject matter, it's worth a view just for the belly laughs.

I first became interested in the General watching him give a speech on C-Span. I later read his book "In The Line of Fire." He's brilliant. He is the epitome of what a sane Muslim world leader can be. I don't imagine Jafar would consider him a "real Muslim" though.

One of the first, huge, long lasting mistakes of the Obama gang admin jerkoff squad. Helping to get rid of Musharraf changed the complexion of most all of the Middle East. Even though he was in Pakistan.
Obama helped to provide the destructive tools that the world is now experiencing.
As for Jafar. He's a nobody. Doesn't matter to me, or the rest of the World. Just a player, like all of our Home-grown, hate-filled liberals here in the U.S.
One day. When it's too late. Most of them will grow a brain, and wonder why nobody told them they were killing themselves.

The General was the man who could have been the shining example for Muslim nations around the world. Instead, liberals and neo-cons prioritizing democracy over actual progress in real life won the day.

The General did not stage the coup of 1999 himself, and in fact it happened completely without his knowledge. He was returning to Pakistan in a commercial airliner which the prime minister would not allow to land anywhere within Pakistan and tried to divert to hostile India. The air liner was running low on fuel and in danger of crashing. The General did not know what was behind all of this because he was literally up in the air. His subordinates stepped in and took over. Once the plane landed they put him in charge.

So the portrayal of him as a power-hungry militarist is absurd. He had nothing to do with the coup.

He refused to impose martial law as military coups traditionally do, because as an officer in the past he recognized the long-term damage the military running the government does to both the military itself and the government workers. He wanted to calm things down for a smooth transition back to normal civilian government.

He sought out the best people to run the various departments of the government, as opposed to traditional cronyism. He picked people who would improve the system and make it work, as opposed to looting it for personal gain.

He recognized he had to improve the economy through private enterprises, and improve education for the sake of the country's future. He mandated the madrassas to teach a standard curriculum of subjects and undergo standardized national tests. He recognized that teaching religion all day provides nothing to the students that will enhance the country's future.

He bestowed rights upon women, broke the oppresive sharia hudood law, reserved seats in the parliament for women and religious minorities.

He recognized that when such a huge percentage of the voters are illiterate, ignorant, and easily swayed by religious clerics, they are not going to vote for the best candidates. They do not even have a cogent idea of what they would expect a good elected official to deliver to them, or even what they can deliver to them. Which is why he placed such a high emphasis on education, including a campaign against adult illiteracy.

When he restored the country to a full democracy, he wanted a bigger piece of the electorate capable of selecting the best candidates.

Musharraf represented the best hope for both the Muslim and the western worlds. Which is naturally why liberals wanted him to go.

But, taft. Everything you so perfectly described above goes COUNTER to what the Obama administration foolishly convinced the UN-educated Americans who always will, and must follow him.
