It appears they are brothers from Russia, here in the States legally. Rumor has it from a few sites that they are followers of Islam, but that could be made up rumors at this point... I also read that the first bomber may have blown himself up. Massive hunt on for the second bomber.
WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) -- All residents of Boston were ordered to stay in their homes Friday morning as the search for the surviving suspect in the marathon bombings continued after a long night of violence that left another suspect dead.
Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis made the announcement that the entire city should stay indoors at a news conference where Gov. Deval Patrick said the remaining suspect, described as a dangerous terrorist, was still on the loose.
The developments came after the suspects killed an MIT police officer overnight, injured a transit officer in a firefight and threw explosive devices at police during their getaway attempt, authorities said as the manhunt intensified.
The suspects were identified to The Associated Press as coming from the Russian region near Chechnya, which has been plagued by an Islamic insurgency stemming from separatist wars. A law enforcement intelligence bulletin obtained by the AP identified the surviving bomb suspect as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old who had been living in Cambridge, just outside Boston, and said he "may be armed and dangerous."
Two law enforcement officials told the AP that Tsarnaev and the other suspect, who was not immediately identified, had been living legally in the U.S. for at least one year.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know1. He's an Immigrant, But He's Been Here Awhile
According to the AP, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, so-called Suspect No. 2, and his brother, Suspect No. 1, have lived in the U.S. for at least a year. NBC reports about two years. And online footprints show he's likely been here since at least 2010. NBC's Pete Williams, who has been in the know and debunked speculation that a missing Brown University student was the suspect (http://www.heavy.com/news/2013/04/sunil-tripathi-5-fast-facts/), previously described the suspect brothers as "legal permanent residents. ... They appear to be from Turkey, possibly Chechens from Turkey. That seems to be the nationality here." Records show Dzhokhar was registered to voter in Cambridge.
He Won a $2,500 Scholarship
2. According to this list, (http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/cambridge/2011/05/cambridge_announces_2011_city.html) he received a $2,500 college scholarship from the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 2011.
He's a Wrestler
3. As seen in this bracket (http://www.masswrestling.com/cms/e107_files/misc/2010-11_framingham_brackets.htm), he was high school wrestler.

Jeff Greenfield, Y! News:
Here is the key news from the Mother Jones' link: Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26 year-old brother of the second Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, had a YouTube page where he posted religious videos, including a video of Feiz Mohammad, a fundamentalist Australian Muslim preacher who rails against the evils of Harry Potter. Among those videos is one dedicated to the prophecy of the Black Banners of Khurasan which is embraced by Islamic extremists—particularly Al Qaeda. The videos posted on what appears to be Tsarnaev's YouTube page may shed light on the motivations for the attack on the Boston Marathon. The prophecy states that an invincible army will come from the region of "Khurasan," a large portion of territory in central Asia.
"This is a major hadith (reported saying of the prophet Muhammad) that jihadis use, it is essentially an end-time prophecy," says Aaron Zelin, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy "This is definitely important in Al Qaeda's ideology." In The Black Banners, former FBI agent Ali Soufan's book about his pursuit of Al Qaeda that is named after this prophecy, Soufan describes the prophecy this way:
Khurasan is a term for a historical region spanning northeastern and eastern Iran and parts of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and northwestern Pakistan. Because of the hadith, jihadists believe that this is the region from which they will inflict a major defeat against their enemies—in the Islamic version of Armageddon.
The older Tsarnaev seems to have posted the video four months ago under the username "muazseyfullah." According to Zelin, "Mu'az is usually a name," and "Sayf Allah means sword of God."

Just watch how the government and media attempt to downplay these Muslims and their terror attack on USA.
OR ELSE THEY WIN SPIN IT TO MAKE OBAMA LOOK THE PART OF A GREAT LEADER/HERO.
Bamboy and his kissing up to his Muslim brothers is to blame for the attack IMHO.

Those who'd advocate any stance suggesting that America, and its terrorist-fighting allies (e.g the UK) should be soft on terrorists/'insurgents'/ ... should wake up and smell the coffee, in my opinion.
How popular [I]is the mood which has it that withdrawals from the Middle East are the way to go ?? How willing are certain Lefties to find some means of appeasing Middle Eastern terrorists .. to 'negotiate' with them, or at any rate, leave them well alone ?
People - however inclined those types may be to walk away from confrontation and to choose not to recognise them as enemies needing to be dealt with, THEY have no interest in reciprocating. THEY see YOU as enemies, and wish you great harm.
No amount of wishful thinking will wish that away. THEY want to kill and destroy, and they will continue to.
There is but ONE answer to all this that's worth a damn, only ONE standing a chance of remedying their savagery. Namely, continuing the War on Terror until, and only until, THEY ARE FINALLY DEFEATED.
Until or unless this is realised, such attacks just will not cease. More murders will happen.
I ask: just how willing is the sellout Left to see this continue on ? Indefinitely ? OR, will they finally, without reservation, wake up to the need to continue the fight to ultimate victory, to make terrorism so unthinkable that no would-be bomber or Islamist murderer could contemplate doing it any more ?

Regarding that muslim cleric in Australia in Jim's post :
The Australian government has condemned a Muslim cleric for making offensive comments in videotaped lectures.Sheikh Feiz Mohammed, head of the Global Islamic Youth Centre in Sydney, urged children to become martyrs for Islam and mocked Jewish people as pigs.
...
Sheikh Feiz Mohammed, who has spent the past year living in Lebanon, talks on the controversial videotapes of his desire for children to be offered "as soldiers defending Islam".
"Teach them this," he says, "that there is nothing more beloved to me than wanting to die as a Muhajid.
"Put in their soft, tender heart the zeal of jihad and the love of martyrdom."

Uncanny Reflection – The Destruction of Chechnya
NATO’s bombing of Serbian forces and Russia’s action in Chechnya have some chilling similarities writes Simon Cooper
When we hear the Russian bombers coming we say here comes ‘humanitarian aid’
Resident of Grozny
Like a funhouse mirror, the brutal mass-bombing and shelling of Chechnya by Russian forces resembles a distorted version of NATO’s bombing of Serbian forces in Kosovo. And while there are differences, as Clinton and Blair are keen to point out, the complicity of the West in the Chechnya situation is both real and multilevelled. Firstly, Russia has taken a leaf out of NATO’s manual on how to wage contemporary warfare. Secondly, the United States has long been a supporter of Russian attempts to dominate Chechnya. Finally, the muted response by the West to such overt barbarism has as much to do with investments in the global economy, natural resources, and ideological attempts to restrain perceived growth of fundamentalist Islam as it has to do with the issues of opposing a powerful and nuclear-capable nation.
Despite some coverage, the media response, in proportion to the amount of killing and terror that is evident in Chechnya, has been restrained. While Russia over the past six weeks has relentlessly bombed cities and villages, resulting in indiscriminate destruction, causing over two hundred thousand people to flee to neighbouring Ingushetia, there has been precious little coverage in the media of a crisis that equals, if not surpasses, the one in Kosovo. Whereas dozens of television cameras were able to convey the multifaceted scenes of terror in Kosovo, we are yet to see anything comparable in Chechnya. One can speculate on the reasons for this. One is that Russia has ensured that media contact is minimal – it is fighting its own version of an ‘information war’. Few reporters are willing to go to an area made so obviously dangerous by random bombing, combined with threats of kidnapping. Russian shelling has destroyed local media structures, along with everything else. The lack of television coverage means that Russia can deny much of what it is doing, the attack on Elistanzhi and the bombing of five Red Cross vehicles (killing two staff and twenty-five civilians) being two notorious early examples.

Dead Boston bombing suspect was a ‘very religious’ Muslim boxer
Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the two Chechen brothers identified as the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing, was a self-described “very religious” Muslim boxer who yearned for Chechen independence and who posed for a photo essay entitled “Will Box for Passport.”
He was identified as the suspect who died early Friday morning during a shootout with police in Watertown, Massachusetts — a suburb of Boston. His brother, who is still on the run as of this publishing, is named Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was a student at Bunker Hill Community College and a Golden Gloves boxer who trained at Wai Kru mixed martial arts gym in Boston and competed in a national Golden Gloves competition. The Wai Kru gym could not be reached for comment.

Boston Bomber Posted Video on 'The Black Flags From Khorasan'BuzzFeed has linked to the YouTube page of Tamerlan Tasarnaev (http://www.buzzfeed.com/scott/tamerlan-tsarnaevs-youtube-page-focused-on-islam) – the older brother in the pair suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon earlier this week. A video he linked to on his page is titled, “The Emergence of Prophecy: The Black Flags From Khorasan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJknGtKV34I).”
The video deals with a key part of jihadist mythology: That one of the most significant battles fought against the “infidels” will take place in the Khorasan, a geographic area that includes parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
As my colleague Bill Roggio has explained (http://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2011/10/fighters_from_caucas.php), “The Khorasan is considered by jihadis to be the place where they will inflict the first defeat against their enemies in the Muslim version of Armageddon. The final battle is to take place in the Levant - Israel, Syria, and Lebanon. Mentions of the Khorasan have begun to increase in al Qaeda's propaganda.”
This, of course, does not make the brothers al Qaeda operatives. It does increase the likelihood that Tamerlan Tasarnaev, if this is indeed his YouTube page, was at least sympathetic to the same underlying ideology.
Authorities still have to carefully piece together the details of how the brothers became terrorists, however, including if they have any ties abroad. And this investigation will produce a more complete dossier on their beliefs and motivations.

Who wants to bet that the roots of the evil turn out not to be in America, but in ideology and faith, aka sympathizing for Islamic causes?
Chechen President Says American Upbringing to Blame
The Chechen president has apparently released a statement that blames the suspects' American upbringing for their alleged terrorist activity.
"Tragic events have taken place in Boston. A terrorist attack killed people. We have already expressed our condolences to the people of the city and to the American people. Today, the media reports, one Tsarnaev was killed as [police] tried to arrest him. It would be appropriate if he was detained and investigated, and the circumstances and the extent of his guilt determined. Apparently, the security services needed to calm down the society by any means necessary," says Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov, according to BuzzFeed (http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/chechen-president-blames-american-upbringing-for-suspected-b).
"Any attempt to draw a connection between Chechnya and Tsarnaevs — if they are guilty — is futile. They were raised in the United States, and their attitudes and beliefs were formed there. It is necessary to seek the roots of this evil in America. The whole world must struggle against terrorism — that we know better than anyone else. We hope for the recovery of all the victims, and we mourn with the Americans."

Boston Bomb Suspect's Dad Tells Him to Surrender, Warns ' Hell Will Break Loose' if Son DiesThe father of suspected Boston Marathon bomber called on his son today to give up peacefully, but warned the U.S. that if his son is killed "all hell will break loose."
Anzor Tsarnaev spoke to ABC News from his home in the Russian city of Makhachkala as Boston police carried out an intense dragnet for his son Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, survived a running gun battle with police during the night that left an MIT security officer dead and a Boston cop badly wounded. His older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, died in the shootout.
The father said he spoke to his sons by phone earlier this week. "We talked about the bombing. I was worried about then," Anzor Tsarnaev said.
He said his sons reassured him, saying, "Everything is good, Daddy. Everything is very good."
The elder Tsarnaev insisted that his sons were innocent, but said he would appeal to his son to "surrender peacefully."
"Give up. Give up. You have a bright future ahead of you. Come home to Russia," the dad said.
The father warned, however, "If they killed him, then all hell would break loose."
"If they kill my second child, I will know that it is an inside job, a hit job. The police are to blame," the father told ABC News. "Someone, some organization is out to get them."

There is no doubt in my mind that this easily qualifies for the death penalty on the federal level. After 3 weeks behind a cell though, he'll have knuckleheads crying for his rights.

These two idiots had help constructing the IEDs and planning the attack.
As far as the father, does he think the cops chasing his two little savages all over Boston last night were imagining the IEDs being thrown at them while being shot at? Or maybe they MacGyver'd up a few on the fly during the car chase with paper clips and a few McDonald's wrappers?
Guilty. Interrogate and then burial at sea.

Apparently they tossed some IED's at the police during the chase last night as well. I'm starting to think of more involved, or helped to a certain extent.

I had this emailed to me a short time ago. All things considered ... maybe Jafar would like to break the habit of a lifetime, and just for once, give the merest smidgen of PRAISE to Israel, or at least, Israelis ... for .....
http://unitedwithisrael.org/boston-hospital-trained-by-israel-to-respond-to-terror/?inf_contact_key=5a109a41f3221eb6e9e997c29569cfb50 e2f2b037cc5a5728ce73a14dd42b14d
A doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital, where most of the victims of the Boston Marathon Terror attack received medical treatment, claimed that an Israeli team helped train them to respond to these kinds of terror attacks. During the Boston Marathon this year, two explosions took place which resulted in the murder of three people and the injury of at least 183 others. One of the victims was a Chinese national who studied at Boston University, while other victims included a 29-year-old restaurant manager and an eight-year-old child. An additional 13 people suffered from severe limb loss.
Were it not for Israeli training, the medical team at Massachusetts General Hospital might have been less prepared to deal with this situation. According to Alasdair Conn, Chief of Emergency Services at Massachusetts General Hospital, “About two years ago in actual fact we asked the Israelis to come across and they helped us set up our disaster team so that we could respond in this kind of manner. A few years ago we wanted to upgrade our emergency response to things like explosions, and unfortunately Israel was dealing with several types of [these incidents] a year… and we had to upgrade our response.”

Russia's Caucasus: breeding ground for terrorMAKHACHKALA, Russia (AP) — Militants from Chechnya and other restive provinces in Russia's volatile North Caucasus have targeted Moscow and other areas with bombings and hostage-takings, but if it turns out that the suspects in the Boston bombings are linked to those insurgencies it would mark the first time the Russian conflict had spawned a major terror attack in the United States.
The suspects were identified by law enforcement officials and family members as Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, ethnic Chechens with ties to the Russian region. There was no immediate information of their links, if any, to any insurgent group.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in a gun battle with police in Massachusetts overnight, officials said. His 19-year-old brother escaped.
Before moving to the United States, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev lived briefly in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim republic that has become the epicenter of the Islamic insurgency that spilled over from Chechnya. On his page on the social networking site VKontakte, Tsarnaev said he attended School No. 1 from 1999 until 2001.
The principal of School No. 1 in Makhachkala, Irina Bandurina, told the AP that Tsarnaev left for the U.S. in March 2002.
The suspects' father, who lives in Makhachkala, told the AP his younger son was a second-year medical student and "a true angel."
The conflict in Chechnya began in 1994 as a separatist war, but quickly morphed into an Islamic insurgency dedicated to carving out an independent Islamic state in the Caucasus.
Russian troops withdrew from Chechnya in 1996 after the first Chechen war, leaving it de-facto independent and largely lawless, but then rolled back three years later following apartment building explosions in Moscow and other cities blamed on the rebels.
Chechnya has stabilized under the steely grip of Kremlin-backed local strongman Ramzan Kadyrov, a former rebel whose forces have been accused of massive rights abuses. But the Islamic insurgency has spread to neighboring provinces, with Dagestan, sandwiched between Chechnya and the Caspian Sea, becoming the epicenter of violence with militants launching daily attacks against police and other authorities.
Militants from Chechnya and neighboring provinces have carried out a long series of terror attacks in Russia, including a 2002 hostage-taking raid in a Moscow theater, in which 129 hostages died, a 2004 hostage-taking in a school in the southern city of Beslan that killed more than 330 people, and numerous bombings in Moscow and other cities.
The Obama administration placed Chechen warlord Doku Umarov on a list of terrorist leaders after he claimed responsibility for March 2010 double suicide bombings on Moscow's subway that killed 40 and a November 2009 train bombing that claimed 26 lives.
In recent years, however, militants in Chechnya, Dagestan and other neighboring provinces have largely refrained from attacks outside the Caucasus.
Russian officials and experts have claimed that rebels in Chechnya had close links with al-Qaida. They said that dozens of fighters from Arab countries trickled into Chechnya during the fighting there, while some Chechen militants have gone to fight in Afghanistan.
The U.S. has long urged Russia's government and separatist elements in Chechnya not aligned with al-Qaida or other terrorist organizations to seek a political settlement.

There IS proof of them killing a cop at MIT. There IS proof of them robbing a store under the threat of guns and a bomb. There IS proof that they carjacked a car, and let the driver go a half an hour later. There IS proof that they tossed grenades and IED's at cops, and hurt up to 14 of them in total. There IS proof that they shot a suspect, who then pulled the trigger and blew himself up.
Then add in their photo's at the marathon, with backpacks, then without backpacks, leaving one at the second bomb scene - and their actions when they were outed by the FBI last night.

One suspect in this week's deadly Boston Marathon bombing (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2013/04/live-updates-boston-bombing-suspect-dead-in-shootout/) died today after a police shootout, and a second suspect, identified by officials as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, remains at large and the subject of a manhunt, police said early this morning.
At an early afternoon press conference, police revealed they had discovered an explosive device in a house in Cambridge that will be purposefully detonated later today.
Tsarnaev's brother, Tamerlan, 26, was killed after he and his brother exchanged gunfire with police officers early today, police said. Multiple explosive devices were detonated during the firefight.

We'll get what they media can pry open, some details from authorities and some from eyewitnesses and some cameras. A lot of it will then be saved for court, like actual police video showing a chase and subsequent shootout.

Now, we find out that the reports are a 7/11 store was robbed. But the store owner denies that. I am trying to figure out why some cop at MIT got shot. I have driven by MIT. It makes no sense some Cop on campus was shot by a bomber. I know the cop was shot, but only ask for proof it was by these two guys. We have a board narcissist from PA who claims he knows it all and he fights rather than posts. Here is what I fear. The cops will kill the second kid and we won't find out the truth. Cops talk of devices tossed. Where are those photos. They show devices that blew up on Monday. Where are the devices tossed yesterday evening? i know they are hunting this kid. And so far I have seen no cops reports. I just saw the kids with the backpack on. I looked closely at the back packs and for the life of me they look almost flat. And how can you get a pressure cooker bomb in a back pack that looks flat? Do you have any back packs that can carry pressure cookers? And finally, I am getting all my news from CBS right now and earlier on ABC. But bear in mind, I am not saying the boys are innocent. But why even have a jury if we all know they are guilty? I worry the media may have the wrong persons and if I am correct, the actual bombers can escape. What if these boys did not do this? Can't you even consider this?
Abbey, based on photos ... of suspects I remind you ... just suspects, those kids who came from the former Soviet Union, seeing themselves as suspects, may have been scared they would be gunned down.
Maybe they are guilty. But since this is a discussion board, all I am discussing is show us proof. I would lo see the photos of those devices tossed last night. We saw cookers from the bombing on Monday.
I don't know why a person asking for truth gets called bad names on this forum as i did. I am only asking that the truth come out before this kid is killed and no lawyer can talk to him.

Robert first, thanks for the kind words.
I think that tweets and cell phone and computer data once recovered will tell us all we need to know about these two. In the meantime, as in any ongoing criminal case, I think we need to give law enforcement the benefit of the doubt that they are following good leads, and time to catch perp #2.
And in this case more than almost any I've ever seen, the evidence is daunting already against these two. But I have learnd over the years that you can't reason with people bent on seeing corruption and conspiracies.

Marcus. Just wondering. Did those police officers who had explosives thrown at them...last night think ahead?
You know? As someone has suggested....having a video of what took place. Like having the photographers from "COPS"
with them...just in case they needed a story to report...later on???
How dare any police force fail to have a camera crew with them during such dangerous times?
What should we do now?
Will someone sue the police for not taking the right photo's???

Abbey, over and over, I wish the forum was full of people just like you. I did not expect a vicious attack by Nightrain and he smeared me yesterday. I tried to get some help but got none at all. I learned it does no good to report insults to the staff.
Abouttime whines he can't post, then he posts. Mark has attacked.
You ask great questions. But some of these others do nothing more than attack. Makes you wonder why they get away with it.
I agree with you that the media has this looking bad for the boys. But I ask for little more than what a jury would ask for. I don't happen to think the media always is honest. I see too much rush to judgement by the media. Maybe it is for ratings. This to me is not a conspiracy. I don't believe cops shoot at people for the fun of it. Maybe it is too early for the facts to come out but so far, it looks to me like the media has tried these two boys and pronounced they did the bombing on monday. I simply ask the questions a jury will ask, if the kid lives that is.

Seems there's evidence of their religion and their disaffection:
...
2008-2009: Tamerlan is studying engineering at Bunker Hill Community College when he is profiled by photographer Johannes Hirn. In that profile, Tamerlan says he is
devoutly religious, has abandoned smoking and drinking, and rips into
the United States. “I’m very religious,” he explains. “There are no
values anymore … People can’t control themselves.”
2009: Tamerlan fights in the Golden Gloves tournament in Salt Lake City, loses. That same
year, he is arrested for assault in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
2010: According to the aunt of the suspects, Maret Tsarnaeva, Tamerlan fathers a 3-year-old daughter. There is no confirming evidence of this. That same year, Tamerlan tells a Boston University student magainze: “I don’t have a single American friend. I don’t understand them.”
2011: According to Maret, Tamerlan begins practicing Islam religiously and praying five times per day.
2011: Dzhokhar graduates from Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, listed as a Greater Boston
League Winter All-Star Wrestler. He goes on to the University of
Massachusetts, studying to be a dentist. Dzhokhar wins a $2,500 scholarship from the City of Cambridge.
August 2012: Ashraful Rahman, a current senior at Cambridge Rindge and Latin, says he saw Dzhokhar at around this time during Ramadan at mosque. ““Regardless of whether
you knew him as well as I did, as someone who wrestled with him, hung
out and chilled with him or whether you were people who saw him the
hallway, he was always the same — a generally nice guy,” said Rahman.

We must try to be rational and not just assume blame. I have no idea why they and the cops got into a gun fight.
But then I stop to think, what if your picture was put out by the FBI over being where a race was and bombing was. . I see no actual evidence a jury would accept saying the to did the bombing on monday.
I will be more than happy to say they are guilty once a jury says they are. But even so, juries have made many tragic errors too.
We must be rational about this.

What's next: The interrogation of the Boston bombing suspectThe arrest of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ended the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombers, but it set in motion an equally intense phase of the case that will begin with the grilling of the man who – for now at least – is the only surviving suspect.
An indication of the complex investigation ahead came Friday night, when an Obama administration official told NBC News that Tsarnaev would not be given a Miranda warning when he is physically able to be interrogated after receiving medical treatment.
Instead, the official said, the government will invoke a legal rule known as the "public safety exception," which will enable investigators to question Tsarnaev without first advising him of his right to remain silent and to be afforded legal counsel.
The exemption can be invoked when information is needed to protect public safety. In this instance, the government believes it's vital to find out if Tsarnaev planted any other explosives before his capture or whether others might have plotted with him to do so, said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Tsarnaev’s older brother, Tamerlan, was killed in a shootout with police early Friday, and it was not clear until late Friday that authorities would be able to question their remaining prime suspect.
Until shortly before his capture around 8:45 p.m. ET, the wounded and bleeding Tsarnaev exchanged gunfire with authorities in Watertown, Mass., while sheltering in a plastic-wrapped pleasure boat.
Officers on the scene and the brass in the command center were both clearly elated by the outcome.
“We always want to take someone alive so we can find out what happened,” Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said at a media briefing an hour later, “and we can hold them to justice."
High Value Detainee Interrogation Group
The rule waiving the Miranda warning does not set a precise limit on how long a suspect can be interrogated before being advised of his rights, but it likely buys authorities no more than 48 hours.
During that time Tsarnaev, 19, will be questioned by a federal government team called the High Value Detainee Interrogation Group, consisting of officials of the FBI, CIA and Defense Department. Though he will not have a lawyer present, any statements he makes during the questioning will be admissible in court.
Among the questions investigators are certain to focus on is whether he and his brother had help in plotting or carrying out the terrorist attack at the finish line of the marathon. The dual blasts from pressure cookers packed with explosives and shrapnel killed three people and injured 176.
That question took on more urgency when police in New Bedford, Mass., south of Boston, announced Friday evening that three people there had been taken into custody as part of the bombing investigation.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Our hearts are sickened by the horror he inflicted': Shocked family of All-American girl who converted to Islam to marry Boston bomber say tragedy proves 'we never really knew him'
The devastated family of the wife of Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev say 'our hearts are sickened' by the terror and tragedy the young Chechen unleashed on America.
Tsarnaev has a three-year-old daughter called Zahara with Katherine Russell, 24, who converted to Islam for her husband, MailOnline can reveal.
And tonight, Katherine's parents, Judith and Warren issued an emotional statement following the terror attack that left three dead and 176 injured, saying: 'Our daughter has lost her husband today, the father of her child.
'We cannot begin to comprehend how this horrible tragedy occurred. In the aftermath of the Patriot's Day horror, we know that we never really knew Tamerlane Tsarnaev
'Our hearts are sickened by the knowledge of the horror he has inflicted.'
The statement was read by Mrs Russell and when asked how her daughter was getting on, she shook her head and said: 'There's nothing for me to say'.
The 26-year-old Chechen – who was shot dead by cops last night – was regularly seen at his wife's family home in Rhode Island.
And neighbours today spoke of their shock at waking up to see Katherine's home being raided by the FBI and cops before dawn this morning.
At 5pm today, Katherine was driven back to the house by a relative and flanked by two SUVs being driven by agents from the Department of Homeland Security.
Shielding her face, the young mother, wearing a dark-coloured top and sporting mousy blonde hair, was driven into the garage.
One of the Homeland security cars remained parked by the house. And asked if Katherine had been questioned, the agents refused to comment, but confirmed: 'We are keeping an eye on the house.'
A man, believed to be Katherine's father, Warren Russell, said: 'We have no comment at this time.'
While a brunette, thought to be one of Katherine's two younger sisters, was earlier comforted by a friend, saying: 'No comment.'
One neighbour told how Katherine - who also uses the last name Tsarnaeva - converted to Islam shortly after starting school at Suffolk University in Boston, saying she believed the couple were married.
Speaking from the quiet suburb, the neighbour said: ‘I knew Katherine was married and she had converted to Islam.
‘She went away to college about three or four years ago and I saw her a year later and she was dressed in the Islamic style. Her hair was covered and she was wearing very baggy, flowy clothing.’
The neighbour said: ‘I saw Katherine with a man and I assumed this was her partner. They came up most weekends and had Massachusetts licence plates on their car, so I thought they lived in Boston and came home at the weekends to see her family.
‘They were always together and had a little girl, who must be about three now.’

How does someone be involved with the Boston bombings, then go to school the next day as if nothing happened? Only murderers and terrorists can do shit like that.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev 'Acted Like Nothing Happened' Day After Marathon, Friend SaysOne day after the Boston Marathon bombings, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev spent time at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he was enrolled as a student and "acted like nothing happened," according to a friend at the campus.
Tsarnaev, 19, is believed to be one of the suspects behind the bombing of the Boston Marathon on Monday that killed three people and injured more than 170.
Andrew Glasby told ABC News that Tsarnaev lived one floor above him at the Pine Dale dormitory and he had a conversation with the alleged bomber one full day after the bombing on the campus.
"I can't believe he had the balls to come back and act like nothing happened," Glasby said.
UMass would only confirm that Tsarnaev was on the campus Wednesday, according to card swipes. Tsarnaev visited the gym and slept in his dorm room Wednesday, according to the school.
Glasby said Tsarnaev, who was often referred to as Jahar, blended right back into normal college life and was "convincing" that nothing was amiss.
"I thought as it was just regular old Jahar. We had a typical conversation, he was not startled, he was not scared, he was not anything. He was just the same old Jahar," Glasby said.
Glasby said that Tsarnaev offered to give him a lift home to Waltham, Mass., on Friday. Tsarnaev described his car as a green Honda Civic, which was the same car police initially said Tsarnaev may have been driving while at-large.

It's probably a stretch to use this, but just.
http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2013/04/19/the-public-safety-exception/
The FBI considers the exception to be a “powerful tool with a modern application for law enforcement,” wrote Carl Benoit (http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publications/law-enforcement-bulletin/february2011/legal_digest), a legal instructor at the FBI Academy in a law enforcement bulletin. He wrote:
When police officers are confronted by a concern for public safety, Miranda warnings need not be provided prior to asking questions directed at neutralizing an imminent threat, and voluntary statements made in response to such narrowly tailored questions can be admitted at trial.
The circumstances with Mr. Tsarnaev are obviously very different. But Mr. Wittes said the Quarles case offers some flexibility, particularly since the suspect could be carrying a bomb.
Says Mr. Wittes: “You do have under ‘Quarles’ some period of time at least to make sure there aren’t other accomplices running around, and to make sure that if there is a foreign connection, that this isn’t part of some unfolding plot of attacks.”

Here is footage of almost the ending. Apparently the police were under orders not to shoot him unless absolutely necessary. When they approached, he shot at them, and they returned with flash bangs and other stunning devices from guns. Anyway, here is when they found him in the boat and first approached. And for those looking for evidence, I suppose they'll say this is made up and they were really in a shootout with a mouse!

By morning media will be praising the no good lying bastard like a long lost son returned to hearth and home... Tyr
Funny you should say that. I don't know about your media, but the BBC over here is replaying a short speech of Obama's which he must've had ordered on to the White House.gov site. It makes him look like the very embodiment of American feeling (... as Brits would understand that to be true .. and I'm far from convinced we DO properly understand that).
The BBC, I kid you not, is replaying the speech once every quarter of an hour ! I think we're all supposed to feel reverence for him as a good and noble President ...
.... I'm sure this is it ...

The report they're putting out as coverage includes scenes of Boston residents in the street, cheering. Then it's followed up by the video, above - making it look like he represents everyone.
Add up the span of the video, shown four times per hour .. and that's a substantial chunk of the total air-time they have.

I'm sure that 'one poster' will question the video. After all, we didn't actually SEE anything, just heard a bunch of noise. Could have been kids setting off a string of fire crackers, or a lot of cars backfiring at the same moment. No real proof.

11:47 a.m. ET: From ABC News' Kirit Radia, reporting from MAKHACHKALA, Dagestan: One of the Boston bombing suspects set off alarm bells among his family a year ago during a trip here to visit relatives, ABC News has learned.
According to a family member, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was kicked out of his uncle's house because of his increasingly extremist views.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev spent roughly six months in Russia in 2012, but the relative, who insisted on anonymity to avoid offending other family members, insisted the young man had been radicalized in the United States before his trip.

Sickening bastard...I can not stand watching the son of a bitch more than a few seconds at a time. He destroys this nation, gets wealth and lifetime protection for his family awarded for his treachery while we will see more of this Islamist murdering in the future but all that matters is the -right people- be protected!
Consider this....--Tyr

One of the curious, but also most predictable, responses to the Boston Marathon bombings from the Left has been the fervent expression — amounting nearly to a prayer — that the perpetrator or perpetrators of this act of mass murder be “homegrown,” preferably white, male, Christian, and conservative.
Why? Why does the Left prefer to have its terrorism served up by Timothy McVeigh rather than Durka Durka Mohammed Jihad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OwFeYlY9GU)? It’s an interesting question. That the Left exhibits this prejudice is, like Falstaff’s dishonesty, “gross as a mountain, open, palpable.”
---------------------------------------------------------
As McCarthy observes:
Organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood have tactical disagreements with al-Qaeda about what situations call for the use of violence to advance the supremacist agenda and how quickly sharia should be imposed. At bottom, though, they are in agreement with al-Qaeda about the imperatives of imposing sharia, eradicating Israel, destroying the West, and eliminating Western influences from Islamic countries. Islamic supremacism is a mainstream Islamic ideology — held by tens of millions of Muslims, not just a few thousand al-Qaeda members and collaborators. Thus, if the administration were to admit that this ideology and agenda catalyze terrorism, they would logically have to admit the problem is much bigger than al-Qaeda.
But if they forbear to make this admission and continue to turn a blind eye to the nature and extent of this murderous ideology, what then?
Not to worry. The president and his family now have Secret Service protection for life (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/10/obama-signs-bill-gets-secret-service-protection-for-life/). The important people will be all right.
It’s mostly folks like Martin Richard, age 8 (http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/16/us/boston-marathon-victims-profiles/index.html), who will have to worry. He was blown to bits, and his mother and sister were maimed by the Boston bomber. But the main thing to worry about, if David Sirota is right, is “white male privilege.”

The missives ranged from the mundane to the malevolent.
Just a few hours after the gruesome attacks, he wrote, “Ain’t no love in the heart of the city,” a line from rapper Jay-Z. He added, “stay safe people.”
That night, he wrote “Lol those people are cooked.”
