Libs are consistent. They NEVER allow a disaster, murder, or any kind of tragedy to go to waste. The bodies are not cold yet and Dems are coming out and using these deaths to advance their political agenda and score political points with their kook base

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) on Tuesday linked the Boston bombings to the March 1 automatic spending cuts (i.e. “sequester”), telling reporters that “sequestration is a stupid polic,” according to Talk Radio News (http://www.talkradionews.com/congress/2013/04/16/hoyer-boston-marathon-bombings-proof-of-sequester-issues.html#.UW2jj4JAviJ).

“I think there are multiple reasons for ensuring that we invest in our security both domestic and international security,” said the congressman (http://www.politico.com/story/2013/04/boston-marathon-bombing-congress-reacts-90136.html), adding that the attacks are “clearly another place where it demonstrates why having the ability to address security concerns is important.”

“That we invest in the education of our children, that we invest in growing jobs in America and don’t pursue any irrational policy of cutting the highest priorities and the lowest priorities by essentially the same percentage,” he added.

However, he did say the following in what may have been an attempt to hedge (http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/top-house-democratic-rep-steny-hoyer-doubts-sequester-164847495--politics.html):

I doubt that [sequestration’s] having any impact presently — and the reason for that, this is a priority item and I’m sure they’re shifting what resources are necessary. Even if they’re shorter resources than they otherwise would’ve had, I’m sure they’re putting all the resources necessary on this effort. Certainly at the federal level — I think the President’s made that pretty clear.
Rep. Hoyer’s comments come shortly after former Congressman Barney Frank decided on Tuesday morning to bring tax cuts (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/04/16/barney-frank-politicizes-boston-bombing-no-tax-cut-would-have-helped-us-deal-with-this/) into the Boston discussion.

“Again, I never was as a member of Congress one of the cheerleaders for less government, lower taxes. No tax cut would have helped us deal with this or will help us recover. This is very expensive,” the former representative said, referring to the city’s ability to bankroll its response teams.

“You have adequately described thousands and thousands of people examining every parcel…providing medical care,” he said.

“What I’m asking people is, whether you have private health insurance or not, whether you can afford this or not, maybe the government’s going to have to pay for it. This is an example of why we need, if we’re going to be a civilized society, to put some of our resources into a common pool,” he added.

Tax cuts and sequestration: Clearly two subjects on everyone’s mind’s following yesterday’s terrorist attacks.
