According to my officer, (he is for the time being)
N Korea is supposed to send off a nuke today.

They said they were going to launch one today, yesterday. They also told every foreigner in N Korea and S Korea that they wouldn't be guaranteed safety.
Captain said that if they do launch today, they'll probably launch at Japan or S Korea, one of our allies. And if that happens, he doesn't think China will have their back any more. Or at least hopes not. But if they do, there's gonna be a big war.
Thankfully, China is a little miffed at what they're doing as well. So we may end up obliterating them within a few days if they do launch a nuke at someone.

The US government doesn't actually do anything at the moment anyway so I don't think much would change except for there being a crater where the govt used to meet up to throw insults at each other and vote themselves pay rises.

North Korea doesn't have their rocket technology worked out yet.

It'll be a while before they figure out how to make an ICBM with enough reach to really threaten the US mainland.

Besides, we've got Missile defense parked here in Alaska, standing by... so even if they did manage to fly one to the mainland, odds are it'll be intercepted long before it reaches the West Coast.

cadet. Never happen. You probably have forgotten that we have Several, U.S. Navy ships in the Pacific, on the surface, and below the surface. Each with the awesome potential to TAKE OUT anything the little fat idiot tries to shoot our way, or toward Guam, Hawaii, or the West coast.
ONE SHIP alone has the capability to conduct the ENTIRE next World War if it was needed.
Yes. Everything you hypothetically mentioned above would be terrible, and destroy our nation.
