James Harrison, their star LB, was cut today. He's the one who had an INT return for 100 yards against Arizona in the SB a few years back. Been with the Steelers since the draft, 9 years. They wanted to restructure his contract to save money, and offer incentives for achievements he may reach. He wanted guaranteed money.
And this will be a hard week, as they will likely see their best WR, Mike Wallace, leave this week due to free agency and the amount of money another team will offer him.

Jim. That is really sad to hear. I saw his note to the Steeler's fans.
A big mistake for the team, and whoever decided to cut him.
Not looking good for next season with news like this.

Harrison cut and in talks with the rival Ravens. Wallace signed a long term contract with the Dolphins. Rashard Mendenhall has left and signed with the Cardinals. Ryan Mundy, safety, signed with the Giants. Emmanuel Sanders, our other WR, is meeting with the Patriots and could sign there, and the Steelers would get a 3rd round draft pick in return.
That's a lot of good players. Free agency and the cap suck!!

We grabbed a Raven's star and he has a chance to help us defeat the Ravens. We came much closer than other teams did. Were one to draw a graph of chances to win the Superbowl, the graph of the Steelers is downwards yet the 49ers is rising.
