I think the forum is intelligent enough to understand that the historians that rank presidents is very top loaded with Democrats favorite types.

RONALD THE MAGNUS REAGAN IS THIS NATIONS BEST ALL TIME USA PRESIDENT

I'm going to have to go with George Washington. But Reagan is way up there.

even all these years after his death, he can still beat any liberal in a debate.

The embedding code you copy from Youtube would have been sufficient. I think you then clicked the video icon and pasted the code in there.

1- Either copy the URL only, click on video icon, place URL in there

or

2- Copy embed code from Youtube and place directly in post, not using the video icon from above at all

What a contrast. One was a politician for the people and the constitution - the others are blabbing idiots looking to extend their careers and place party over country. It's sad that the country has fallen so far in such a short time.

I would have to go with Calvin Coolidge as the best President of the twentieth century. You remember him, don't you?

V4R. Not a problem for gabby.
She's still trying to figure out, and understand Archie (O'Connor) when he talked about how Gabby's parents never
CONSTIPATED their marriage....
so Archie took Edith to the
GROINOCOLOGIST to explain Gabby's educational challenges.

Actually, Archie was a deliberate stereotype of the average ignorant conservative. You should watch a few episodes. You might see yourself.

If you listen to history, it regularly lists Coolidge as one of the five or ten WORST presidents of all time. His tenure was mired by corruption, graft and scandal. His dealings with others present him as a quite ignorant man who became president only through a late compromise by party members.

Domestically and internationally, Coolidge applied the principles I happen to like.

And did well.

But, Reagan came to office facing far more serious problems. Reagan played a major role in freeing the world from the Soviet aggression and via actions he personally took, helped the Soviet empire to collapse. As to the economy, Coolidge really did not have problems to solve. He was awesome on not regulating and awesome in tax policy.

So, he deserves to be rated just behind Reagan.

I don't expect that had Coolidge been president when Reagan was that things Reagan fixed would have been fixed.

Not true. Coolidge deserves a high ranking.

But we all know that the raters are left wingers. Needless to say they hate any president that wants smaller government and low taxes.

There is no evidence to support Coolidge being anything but an honest man.

Members of Coolidge's own party thought he was an inept and ineffective leader.
Of course, Coolidge's reputation was tainted by the fact that he had to following Harding, who is often listed as the worst U.S. president ever. Many of his primary faults lay in trying to cover up or avoid the growing Teapot Dome scandal instead of investigating it.
Also, Coolidge turned a blind ear to farmers who lost their land when banks began to shut down. Also, Coolidge approved large tax cuts to the rich at a time when the divide between wealthy and poor was a lot more pronounced than today. These two factors were large contributors to the Great Depression.

We shouldn't question Gabby on this topic. Obviously. Gabby was around during Coolidge's time, and presidency. So, she speaks from First Hand experience.

And look at the polls especially. I highly doubt any of them portray him as a bad American. Alternatively, quite a few of them have him ranked among the greats.
