You mean "Não falo". Those are Capivaras, the world's largest rodents. Or in English: Capybaras.

They are docile and you can walk up and pet one if you so desire.

It's interesting to see the name's origin comes from the Tupi of whom my wife is a descendant.

Its common name (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_name) is derived from Tupi ka'apiûara, a complex agglutination of kaá (leaf) + píi (slender) + ú (eat) + ara (a suffix for agent nouns), meaning "one who eats slender leaves", or "grass-eater".

Can you get me one? I think my Chihuahua would like to play with them.

They are related to guinea pigs and are quite friendly critters.

While they gnaw on your new chair? They have a pervasive gnawing instinct.

Had not thought of that. What about little monkeys?

Q: What is the difference between a capivara and a guinea pig?
A: You eat capivaras in Brazil and eat guinea pigs (cuy) in Peru.

Opinion question: What do you think of blurring the lines between pets and dinner?

I always say that pets of course shouldn't be eaten. But in other parts of the world they are not pets. Look at the cow in India, and then here in the States. It sickens me to think that in some places they eat cats and dogs.
