What's it all about and why should I care? This keeps me up at night,

Define "it". And you should always care, those emotions keep our blood flowing and us breathing. As for staying up - the CVS by my house sells a safe and non-addictive sleeping pill. That, or drink generous amounts of vodka and eat steak, always makes me sleepy. :)

"ALFEE" comes to mind. "That's what it WAS all about!"

If you have that much time to worry you are not working hard enough.

What's it all about and why should I care?
What's it all about, alfie?
Is it just for the moment we live?
What's it all about when you sort it out, alfie?
Are we meant to take more than we give
Or are we meant to be kind?
And if only fools are kind, alfie,
Then I guess it's wise to be cruel.
And if life belongs only to the strong, alfie,
What will you lend on an old golden rule?
As sure as I believe there's a heaven above, alfie,
I know there's something much more,
Something even non-believers can believe in.
I believe in love, alfie.
Without true love we just exist, alfie.
Until you find the love you've missed you're nothing, alfie.
When you walk let your heart lead the way
And you'll find love any day, alfie, alfie.

What's it all about??
1. The hippies said-- free love
2. The rich man said-- more money
3. The politician said -- more and more power!
4. The poor man said-- more money
5. The preacher said-- Christ's love
6. The teacher said, -- more education
7. The doctor said-- Good health
8. The lawyer said--bigger settlements
9. The soldier said, -- less fighting , more security
10 The child said-- more toys
11 The poet said-- love
12 The mourning parent said-life and love
13 The old bitter soul said-- more time.
14 The young lovers said- our love
15 The priest said -God's love
16 The cop said-- Law
17 The college student said--love
18 The sage said-- wisdom
19 The banker said--money
20 The orphaned child said--love
I count 8 loves.. What else do we grave more than love, love of family, love of freedom, love of music, love of art, love of reading , love of food, love of sex, love of life?
The hippies had it right but it isn't free and its not meant to be confused with lust..
As a great benefactor from free love (lust) I later in life discovered it was only lust, magnificent lust, blessed lust.
A pale and sorrowful imitation of true love. Some never know know the difference. I often wonder if they are the lucky ones when death comes" a knockin"??? Such immeasurable pain to lose a father and a baby brother. Destroyed a soul for a 12 year span.. lucky that it wasn't for life.. --Tyr
