I think the idea behind it is good for a child to learn, how it works and such. See the swearing in and what he is swearing to. Then I will print out that pledge - go over it with him - THEN let him write his essay. :)

One aspect of his essay should touch on what happens when the takers outnumber the producers and we get people like Obama elected. I do pity your kid. At leats mute the sound so he does have to listen to the "reporters" swoon over Obama
