In the vast majority of cases, I would take a bet that this is not so much a result of poor hiring or training, but a reflection of a poor internal culture.


Companies that have combative relationships with their employees, or fail to engage staff in a respectful way, risk seeing these same negative attitudes filter into staff interactions with customers.

Blaming business for chosen attitudes is silly.


It's up to individuals to decide - within a healthy buisness culture - to provide great service.

I think poor service stems mostly from our sense of entitlement and ego.

I think a true customer service professional has the nerve to bolt when they are in a company with a toxic culture.
