How are they different, are they? How?

Well, I'd say they are fairly interlinked. Self-esteem is basically your own self-image, how you hold up to yourself. Self-confidence is your degree of comfort in your own skin and the ability to assert yourself. Self-respect is more your internal understanding of how you deserve to be treated.

SOme instances: you might have a woman who knows she is very beautiful (self-esteem), but doesn't assert herself well (lack of confidence), due to a nagging fear of rejection or confrontation, and thus allows people to walk on her (lack of self-respect.)
