Nearly Three-Quarters of Jobs Created Since June Are in Government

Just when you thought yesterday’s dismal jobs numbers (http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2012/12/07/unemployment_rate_drops_to_77_percent) couldn’t get any worse -- they did. According to CNSNews.com (http://cnsnews.com/news/article/73-new-jobs-created-last-5-months-are-government), nearly seventy-five percent of all civilian jobs created since the beginning of last summer are in the public sector:


Seventy-three percent of the new civilian jobs created in the United States over the last five months are in government, according to official data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.In June, a total of 142,415,000 people were employed in the U.S, according to the BLS, including 19,938,000 who were employed by federal, state and local governments.
By November, according to data BLS released today, the total number of people employed had climbed to 143,262,000 (http://cnsnews.com/sites/default/files/documents/143%2C262%2C000.xls), an overall increase of 847,000 in the six months since June.
In the same five-month period since June, the number of people employed by government increased by 621,000 to 20,559,000 (http://cnsnews.com/sites/default/files/documents/20%2C559%2C000_0.xls). These 621,000 new government jobs created in the last five months equal 73.3 percent of the 847,000 new jobs created overall.

Was the plan all along--grow government , centralise the power to control the people.
It is well known fact the larger the goernment the less freedoms for the people.
That fact is beyond any valid dispute. An agenda of dumbing down our kids was begun long ago for just this very purpose. The have them ignorant enough to vote against their own best interests, tis why the leftists/libs took over the education system in the 1960's along with the dem party. -Tyr

One reason for the new hiring in government is to gear up the IRS to enforce Obamacare. This should bring a smile to the face of LR, Gabby, and others who support Obamacare After all someone has to make sure the deadbeat citizens pay all those taxes (or fees) in Obamacare
The IRS says it is well on its way to gearing up for the new law but has offered little information about its long-term budget and staffing needs, generating complaints from Republican lawmakers and concern from government watchdogs.

The IRS is expected to spend $881 million on the law from 2010 through 2013, hiring more than 2,700 new workers and upgrading its computer systems. But the IRS has not made public information about its spending plans in the following years, when the bulk of the health care law takes effect.

The lack of information makes it impossible to determine whether the IRS will have adequate workers to enforce the health care law, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration said in a report three weeks ago. The report, however, concluded that "appropriate plans had been developed to implement tax-related provisions" of the law.
