Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he was “flabbergasted” with the White House’s initial proposal to avoid the so-called “fiscal cliff.”

The Ohio Republican said he told Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner “you can’t be serious,” when the lead White House negotiator presented the plan to GOP congressional leaders last week.

Boehner detailed his reaction in an exclusive interview with “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace later that afternoon.

He called the administration proposal that included $1.6 trillion in tax increases, $400 billion in unspecified tax cuts and a bevy of additional stimulus spending, “nonsense.”

Three weeks have been “wasted with this nonsense,” Boehner said, referring to the time that passed since voters reelected President Obama and a GOP-controlled House of Representatives.

The Democrats are doing an inverse run on what I've been saying. They want the Republicans 'to own' all cut proposals, so the Democrats can tell the people 'Here's who hates you, Baby!'

Question is, are the conservatives ready to turn it back on them, with a smile?

They need to take the lack of transparency, from "the most transparent administration ever", and ensure every last detail of the limitless debt gets exposed to the nation, this way down the road there are no arguments over who skyrocketed this mess.

"Oh, look at the spending by the republicans, they placed us in so much debt, we need to spend and create more debt to fix it now".

The conservatives need to point out what the debt is costing the country, in terms of how much they need to take in, the real costs of entitlements and alternatives available. Why now, rather than down the road.
