What is this "snow" stuff that you speak about? :poke:

Nice picture, though. Love the houses.

It's actually condo buildings on the next street over made to look like huge houses. And that's my fenced in yard where my doggies do their business. And a free swing set and fort for anyone who can steal it! And you can just barely see the beginning of cement closer to the house, which is my "basketball court", which is never used, as I refuse to miss a basket and keep chasing my ball all over the yard. So I left it there one day, and the dogs peed on it endlessly. Game over!

This is why you raise children! To chase your basketballs and clean up after the dogs!
Of course, if you owned cats, you wouldn't have this problem. :slap:

Hmm, looks pretty similar to one that my friend wants me to "steal" from his house.

"Creative Playthings". Awesome sets for the kids from toddlers through the young kid stage - then firewood after that!

CA skiiers are on the slopes.

However, you are at sea level. When do you expect snow that sticks?

oh, isn't global warming neat?

I watch Discovery and the programs report that last year Alaska had early winter and record snow falls.

We had 6 inches around the time of the hurricane, then it got a bit warmer again. Probably the end of December, beginning of January, we'll see some more stickage. Then again, I ain't no weatherman! :)

We had one night of flurries, but that was that. Usually by now we've had some snow. So far not seeing any in forecasts.

Yeah, but it's probably about 20 degrees there and about 60 below with the wind chill, no?

At 31 now, that's probably close to our high. Winds are only at 10mph, a good day! LOL!

A little help, here!

Do we still need to hotlink from a pic hosting site or can we upload direct to DP?

There's a window that pops up but it doesn't seem to get me anywhere.

You can attach one to a thread - or what you post from elsewhere, the actual link top a JPG file for example, should then have the IMG tags around it, with the opening and closing brackets of course, and then it'll display in the post.

so link - http://www.wealthywheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Gemma-Atkinson-18.jpg

Or like I explained in order to have it display in the post - This would be at the end of the link [/IMG] and this prior to the link [IMG] <--- only way to get them to show properly!

Sweet pics! I like to see the snow on the mountains like that, look like postcards.

As an Fyi, if you even care, open a free account at http://www.tinypic.com or another, and try the IMG way I described above. This way if you share them other places, you always have a place where they are stored and shareable with the embed links! Imageshack or whatever it's call is widely used too. I also use "imgur" which allows me to right click on images elsewhere, upload them and give me the code all in one shot!

Most beautiful song about snow I have ever heard. Written by a woman from the Jersey Shore.
Someone played me this song when I was in college and I have never forgotten it.

I think that the Moody Blues would do a better job. The song is awesome. That song by Gabby was so so. I did not listen to all of it.

The Eagles also would do the rain song better I believe.

Here's a Fun Fact for you, Gabby:

Slash is half Jewish and half Black.

In case you don't know, and you probably do, he's the guy playing the lead guitar in the solo.

I think he is the greatest guitarist ever to walk the planet.

How angry are you now?

Guns n' Roses!! Yes!!! SO much better than the crap coming out today. Such a shame that they broke up, Axl lost a few screws and then turned into a fat slob!!

Not to belabor the point, but for bands and songs. I listen to the Moody Blues and the Eagles.

For an individual singer, it's hard to top Neil Diamond.

I am so old that I still love Dave Brubeks group.

So old I love the Tiajuana Brass and their songs.

Fats domino songs are too short. But that man was also awesome.

Oh hell yes.

The crap getting produced today, that "Rap/Metal" just drives me insane.

Every now and then, though, rock will break through that bullshit on the radio, like Skillet's "Awake and Alive" or some new Offspring.

And Jim as the snow falls, the NY Times ran this global warming story. The Statue of Liberty could one day, be under water. I do love the timing of the liberal media and the enviro wackos
WE’D seen it before: the Piazza San Marco in Venice submerged by the acqua alta; New Orleans underwater in the aftermath of Katrina; the wreckage-strewn beaches of Indonesia left behind by the tsunami of 2004. We just hadn’t seen it here. (Last summer’s Hurricane Irene did a lot of damage on the East Coast, but New York City was spared the worst.) “Fear death by water,” T. S. Eliot intoned in “The Waste Land.” We do now. There had been warnings. In 2009, the New York City Panel on Climate Change issued a prophetic report. “In the coming decades, our coastal city will most likely face more rapidly rising sea levels and warmer temperatures, as well as potentially more droughts and floods, which will all have impacts on New York City’s critical infrastructure,” said William Solecki, a geographer at Hunter College and a member of the panel. But what good are warnings? Intelligence agents received advance word that terrorists were hoping to hijack commercial jets. Who listened? (Not George W. Bush.) If we can’t imagine our own deaths, as Freud insisted, how can we be expected to imagine the death of a city? History is a series of random events organized in a seemingly sensible order. We experience it as chronology, with ourselves as the end point — not the end point, but as the culmination of events that leads to the very moment in which we happen to live. “Historical events might be unique, and given pattern by an end,” the critic Frank Kermode proposed in “The Sense of an Ending,” his classic work on literary narrative, “yet there are perpetuities which defy both the uniqueness and the end.” What he’s saying (I think) is that there is no pattern. Flux is all. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/25/opinion/sunday/is-this-the-end.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
