More than 6X savings for same operations. Employers agree to pick up the co-pay. Seems like an idea whose time has come. Granted, won't take into account 'catastrophic' treatments such as cancer, but that insurance isn't prohibitively expensive on its own.
Yes, for those who've read my posts on health care reform, this plan just seems a step up from what I've advocated for private doctors. Office visits, inoculations, well baby visits, physicals, etc., should be posted priced, no insurance allowed. This eliminates all or most of the need of administrative workers.

^I don't know, our HC system is so beyond F'ed, especially with BO-Care, that I think single payer would be preferred and better for the country. Of course that's what they wanted now isn't it?

But for doctors and patients, would eliminating insurance companies, including Obamacare, for all but catastrophic, lower costs and provide a decent income for docs? Without the added costs that come with insurance, the office, in this case the surgery, can function more efficiently with fewer staff.
Surgery is very different than a general practice, pediatrician, or family care specialist. This is often where 'personal relationship' can go a very long way to keeping malpractice insurance under control.

But for the government and insurance compasnies, health care would be up to 6 times less per your video. Turning it over to Government only means that a lot of people who don't pay for insurance since they have no health problems get nicked for caring for others visa goverment charges.
Obama care is not structured to have health care cost less.
Doctors get ripped off by Medicare so in self defense kite the prices trying to stay even.

Funny thing, lots of people for decades have been riled about their hospital bills, even though insurance 'pays' for them. If given an alternative, many would grab, especially if their employer picks up the co-payment equivalent.
Robert, that is captalism and free markets at work.

If they buy insurance, in line with what you said previously, they fret about the price of insurance but not the size of the bill so long as they pay little of it. I see insurance as cramping the free market.
The deal is to pay very little in exchange for insurance paying a lot.
Think about it. If you knew you would go broke buying insurance but have a fat savings account by not buying it, most would opt to save their cash.
Years ago prior to me being on Medicare I would ask doctors what they would discount the bill. It could amount to saving half their bill.
Trust me, I am very well awared of what capitalism (Karl Marx terminology) and of course know what a free market is. Thanks just the same.

I don't think you are getting it, but whatever. I just hope your contributions don't prevent others from hearing a possible alternative.

Excuse me? Are you feeling like you may need more clarification?
A favor please. I try to NOT make my comments to YOU personal. Somehow you make me believe you just don't like me or what I say so you get snarky.
My favor is please knock off making it personal against me.
Statement 1 by you is vague. I have no idea why you claim I am not getting it.
Since I do not post to try to put others down, I suggest you end your habit of doing it to me.

Oh I completely agree with that, my comment was on our HC overall (disclaimer, haven't watched the video yet) and how it has zero relationship to a free-market. Nobody knows what insurance truly costs, nobody knows what a particular procedure truly costs, there is almost zero connection between the providers and consumers of HC. That's why I have advocated a massive deregulation of the HC industry so that we can begin to reinstitute free-market principles and then see what regulations are necessary.

Exactly what I've been saying, now it seems these surgeons are actually trying it out and so far, having success.

Dude watch the video.
I did, hence my noting it to be "excellent." The video got to the point and didn't ramble.
