I disagree . Hoover was never a messiah, never slavishly adored and never treated like a God by over 50 million citizens.

That would take a huge meltdown and it seems that Dick Morris is turning quite a business of playing to the right.

Oh I don't know, Hoover had quite the following back in the 20's. After Belgium and the floods of '27? he could do no wrong even if many Republicans didn't like him.

I don't think everything is lined up for that... at least not yet. Worldwide protectionism is not on the horizon and the Fed is better at pumping money in in cases of trouble. I think it's more like how the '70s looked; steadily increasing taxes, regulations, and Fed based inflation. Neither exactly good scenarios mind you.
