Apparently this woman in Arizona got mad that her husband didn't vote in the election, because she felt sure that dire things would happen if Obama got re-elected, and so she chased him all over a parking lot in a Jeep. He kept trying to hide behind a light pole but finally broke and ran for it, and she got him crushed up on the curb.
He's in critical condition, told the police she is six months pregnant.....
I'm thinking this election may have put some strain on that marriage.

I am thinking the media is still covering up the fact that Obama was doown by 9 million voters vs 2008.
wonder why?
I watch all kinds of analysis on this event yet they don't mention how Obama took it in the shorts.

Oh, yes?
I just read here on this forum that Romney did 2.5 million votes fewer than McCain did. So..... 9 million plus 2.5 million, if accurate, mean a lot fewer people voted at all than in 2008, I think.

And I believe you were one of those people who did not vote - if I remember your post correctly

That's right --- and you are just the person to take the election too seriously and chase me around with a Jeep in a parking lot to run me down for not voting for Romney.
I can see it now -- you whirling around bumping into parked cars and spinning off them to re-aim at me, aboutime hanging out the other window shrieking imprecations and Kathianne in the back having a snark attack.
Ah, well. On a forum open to the public, some people have manners and can make conversation, and some people are always going to be pretty hopeless. The only thing to be done is to accept that and give up on the hopeless ones.
Preferably before they find a Jeep.............

I wonder if she will switch politics. She will move from the married women demographic to convicted felon and possibly single woman. As an aside curiosity, will she become a guest of Joe Arpaio's tent city? I'm amazed this thread sparked a political discussion. It's a story about someone flipping their lid.

Dressed in pink, right? Nice. ;)
I like your idea that this may turn her into a Democrat now that she is surely going to be convicted for a felony. She mashed him up on the curb pretty good!
This story is all over the news, because people here DO get things out of proportion: how many people bought extra guns and ammo in case Obama lost and there were riots? They have a new TV show starting on survivalists. There are people right here on this list screaming repeatedly, hourly, about killing lots of people because of this election, right? So ...... this deserves to be a big story, IMO. A lot of people went crazy over this election, and this woman was just one of them.
But she's pregnant so maybe a good lawyer can get her off............
Really. She's six months along, and pregnant women.......can indeed get a little funny. I remember, though I didn't go after anyone with a Jeep. I bet they get her off.

I don't see that happening in Arizona. She may get it reduced to a lesser included. Even if your definition of "getting off" is no incarceration, I expect she will at least do industrial strength probation for aggravated assault, still a felony.

Even if she's pregnant, I think this guy needs a new wife.
Kelley and Broadwell seem to be available; I wonder if he'd like one of those.

Approximately 11 million fewer voters this election. Its possible elections can be taken too lightly. This was the most important election in the history of this nation. It has shown that the Republic has been too corrupted and too decayed from within to stand as was the case before. Its all downhill now because only armed revolution can correct the problem and my guess is that the people are not up to it. We will go into a huge decline and likely not ever recover. All because half the population fell in love with a man that lies like a rug. That indicates clearly the rot that liberal education has brought to our citizens. I've made the decision to protect only me and mine and to hell with all the scum that voted away the country. They gave away their freedoms and deserve exactly what they will eventually get. I see their fat asses in the stores getting thier free food and walking around 300+ pounds not knowing that eating like pigs will kill them sooner and I hope it does.

Even Rush Limbaugh is already shaking off the shock of the election results. Obama is a "cult of personality". He won't be on the ballot again. 2010 has shown us that elections can still be won. The first battle to stop a permanent majority of takers is to hold the line on a path to citizenship for illegals. One thing that killed Romney was Obama's unanswered negative advertizing before Romney was even nominated. The GOP can have the same luxury in 2016 if a nominee is agreed on early in the process.

Problem: then the Hispanics all vote for the Dems.
So what to do about that?

There won't be an early nominee for either party, IMO. It's hardly going to be Biden running for the Dems, and I personally don't believe Clinton will either.
So both parties will have one of these ghastly clown-car primaries with beaucoup disgusting PC candidates like Al Sharpton or Herman Cain on stage, with all the sex scandals we saw this election, only twice as many.
No, the 2016 election looks like a free-for-all.
Assuming we are still having elections, that is.
Time passes, things change.

They will anyway. The best thing is to keep the rhetoric low key and stay true to conservative principles. Unless the GOP want to be a determined socialist party, it should never try to cool opposition by compromising on free stuff. Hispanics DON'T principally vote on immigration; they want social programs. Texas Republicans can advise on how to get perhaps 35-40% of the Hispanic vote.

Of course it is possible to take the election too seriously. Read this board for the last week. :poke:
Or, don't read this board and post on the same topic twice. :lame2:

I don't think most took the election too seriously. However, I would advise people to keep a good emergency fund available. As much as people hate to do it, it's a good idea to revisit Unemployment and public assistance qualification criteria. Many are going to need it. I still think enough Americans have enough pride to get tired of being unproductive and sweep aside this government that punishes being productive and rewards the idle. A second downturn is on the way. I agree with Dick Morris that Obama will become the Democrats Herbert Hoover. What fooled him was thinking that the economy had deteriorated enough to repudiate liberal/Democrat policies. They haven't yet, but they will.

Ya know gabby the problem isn't the talking points or the gotcha moments that the media LOVES to play over and over. That isn't what's causing the people in Texas and other states to think about leaving the union.
People honestly don't want the US to go down the road of Europe. Where they're paying 40% taxes and are completely dependent on the gov. They've got illegals and refugees that are getting freebees and gov. housing while a deminishing number of people pay taxes. Unemployment is high, cost of living is through the roof and people aren't having children.
My sister lives in Finland and is bairly making it. She's a very smart person with a Masters in Analytical chemistry, but because of the guaranteed jobs program they have there she can't find a solid job. Europe's benefits sound good on paper but they're killing the people.
A women (in finland) gets 3 yrs off after a birth and is guaranteed her job back. If she comes back for 6 months and has another baby, she gets another 3 yrs off. All the while getting 80% of her pay for the first yr. Paid for my the state. Sounds great right???? Accept here's my sister who can't get a full time position because they don't come available. So after filling in she goes back on unemployment.
Even with all the guaranteed time off and payments from the gov. the tax rate is so high that having children is cost prohibitive. Europe is dying. America will also unless we get a handle on our spending and entitlement programs.

Amazing. Now THAT is pro-natalism. I believe a lot of European countries simply cannot get white women to have any babies even with these generous rewards. I can remember that way back in '84, the last time I was over there.
Well, they are being replaced by other ethnic groups, and so are we. That's what this election meant.

They can't get women to have babies because the cost if living is prohibitive in most european countries.
If you aren't lucky enough to get a "real" job of your own, you are left to fill in when other women go on maternity. Hardly a system I'd like to emulate.
The changing face of America isn't what the election was about. It was about the cities being completely dependent on the gov. and voting in whoever is going to give them stuff.
While others are worried about the US going so far into debt that we are looking at being just as bad as European countries and their financial mess.
a democracy is destined to fail as soon as the people begin voting benefits for themselves without considering whether the country as a whole can afford those benefits.

Republicans are taking the obvious defeatist strategy: If you can't win an election, offer a lot of excuses and conspiracy theories.

Mighty broad brush you're painting with there. Now is the time for training, recruiting and making a realistic plan to add to the electoral map. Working to make Obama another Nixon, or worse still the Democrat version of Nixon and Hoover rolled into one is a good strategy. I see a risk that Obama could end up like Richard Nixon. Every GOP candidate should attend workshops as a condition of getting money. There's no excuse for Akin, Mourdock, O'Donnell, and Allen's "macaca" gaffes.

I saw in the WSJ yesterday a suggestion that every Republican candidate should have an IQ test and a basic information test before being allowed by the party to run. It is certainly a good idea!

That seems like a rather insulting and belittling mentality lacking an honest desire for winning results.

tailfins. Take note. Not one mention about how such IQ tests have failed for Liberals, Democrats, Obama, and Biden.
It is insulting for Liberals to not be included. Which tells me. Having no IQ is far worse than being asked to be tested.

My how times have changed, Goth this in an email a work yesterday
Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel ,
"Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land."
Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced) Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land." Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land
