Very entertaining, but I'll tell ya, Gibson sure likes his blood and gore.

Is it worth buying? What's it about?

Well, that's the only way I see movies. I've spent a small fortune on my home theater and wait for movies to come out on DVD and buy it. So this one, I'd say yes, it's worth buying. It's very visually spectacular, not a bad story, and keeps you enthralled pretty much through the whole thing. Gory though. If you have a weak stomach for blood and guts, don't buy it.

You can find out what any movie is about at www.imdb.com

Subtitled? That sucks. Wasn't The Passion subtitled also?

Yeah. That was one of the nastier scenes. But rolling the chopped off heads, and then that body down those steps was AAAAACCKKYY! Blood shootin' all over.... YYYUUUUKKK!!
And I found myself every bit as enthralled in the movie with subtitles as I would have been otherwise.

Yes. It wasnt a distraction like it normally is in subtitled movies.

I was able to follow the movie from shortly after the beginning without really paying much attention to the subtitles.
It was entertaining. Good one Mel.
I wasn't particularly interested in the movie, and I only watched about half of it, but from what I could tell, it's a very action-oriented movie, meaning you don't really need to have a bunch of dialogue to know what's going on.

Apocalypto, one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
